This MXG is fragrant without being oily, spice brings warmth but doesn’t overwhelm and I like that there are no peppercorns in sight so it stays smooth and easy to enjoy without the numbing overload.
The fried specials are the highlight. Fish fillets stay crisp outside with tender flesh, luncheon meat turns golden and crunchy and potato slices snap with every bite. Fried separately, they add crunch and richness without greasiness, making the bowl satisfying all around 》$18.25
And they were right. Friend recommended and today it was weak, she agreed that's it's not always the usual high standard
I like that some ingredient like Luncheon meat being fry before mix with mala sauce. Not too oily and the numbness is doable (we choose mild spicy).
Price a bit step, but they open at 313, rental must be ex ☺️.

Perfect dish for a cold weather. I love how some ingredients were fried before stir frying with the mala. It is one of the best, if not the best, mala fragrant pot I had. It is on a more pricey end for a foodcourt but totally worth the bucks.
Expected Damage: $20-$30/2 pax
Read from a local blog that this is the no.1 mala xianguo in town.
Felt it is only so-so
The pork belly is sold in chunks, not strips. So it was hard to chew and doesn't give that pork belly oil taste that I love mxg for.
Ingredients are fresh for sure.
Had to try this mala knowing that they stir fry it with all the 真材实料 / authentic ingredients such as the cinnamon stick, bay leaf, clove. The spice was extremely numbing and its tending to the saltier side. At some point, i can't taste anything anymore! I also liked how it was not too oily and was more dry actually (compared to Ri Ri Hong).
Shout out to how they fry the luncheon meat to golden brown perfection
$28.30 for 3 people. (4/5 👍👍👍👍)
