Go for their Homemade Duck Foie Gras Terrine ($24) with sugar glazed onions and grilled buttered sourdough or have the garlic butter and parmesan slathered Escargot ($16) to share. Order the wonderfully moist Roast Chicken ($32, half portion), marinated with a fragrant herb butter and roasted to golden brown perfection, and end your meal with the velvety Dark Chocolate Tart with Cream ($8). Trust us, it's worth saving tummy space for.

You're in for a merry good time at this buzzy izakaya located along Stanley Street. Decked out in authentic Japanese decor, the cosy space will put you at ease. Here's your list of must-orders: the creamy, mentaiko-topped Rosti Mentai ($8), and the trustworthy Chef Selection Skewers ($18 for five skewers). The menu offers tapas-style plates made for sharing, such as the juicy bone-in L.A Style Black Angus Kalbi ($26), deliciously tender Grilled Pork Belly ($26) and the spicy-sweet glazed Dak Kang Jung (crispy chicken tenders, $18). On mains, the cheesy Seafood Rapokki ($22) is a good choice as well, best paired with a refreshing Yuzu Makgeoli ($22).

After a three-month hiatus, this hidden gem in Kembangan known for cafe fare that hits the spot is back! Visit on weekends to savour their newly revamped weekend brunch menu, including the Croque Madame ($22). It flaunts a buttery yet tangy tomato hollandaise that Burppler Xing Wei Chua describes as "incredibly umami without being jelat (overpowering)". The comforting Oven Baked Eggs ($22) is a hit with the Burpple community as well.

This popular no-frills Japanese spot in Far East Plaza needs no introduction, and the crowd speaks for itself. Bring a sashimi-loving date here for a delicious meal. Order the luscious Salmon ($5.90) and buttery Hamachi ($10.90) sashimi to get the best of both worlds with 1-for-1. For something more substantial, you can't go wrong with the ever-popular and generously portioned Chirashi Don ($24.90).

Must-orders include the Traditional Stuffed Roman Schiacciata (from $10) – think creamy, aromatic truffle mushrooms embedded in a fluffy, chewy and slightly crusty flat bread. Trust the Burpple community's gut and go with the divinely crispy and crackly Porchetta (from $9), before finishing off with the delightful Pistachio Tiramisu ($14).
