96 Chicken Rice

Tried another dish from @96chickenrice, and this set includes a large piece of juicy and tender boneless chicken with a thick, crispy batter, a marinated egg, and cabbage soup. The batter was moderately thick, crispy, and not greasy at all. The rice was, as usual, aromatic, and the cutlet was neatly sliced for easy eating. Their cabbage soup is flavourful, but it is always served cold whenever I visit, and I wonder why. It would be much better if they heated it up to enhance the dining experience.

I initially wanted to get the Beauty Leg Chicken Rice, but @96chickenrice had completely changed their menu. So, I decided to try their new offering, Signature Boneless Chicken Thigh Rice with Onsen Egg ($6.90). The set came with a perfectly marinated egg, tender boneless chicken with crispy skin, and cabbage soup. While the boneless meat made for an easy eating experience, I still preferred the huge Beauty Leg version as they executed it better in terms of taste and texture. The boneless version lacked aroma and wasn’t as juicy compared to the bone-in version.

This stall sells only one item, Beauty Leg Chicken Rice ($6.90), and it tastes more than just awesome. Wow! It really amazed me!

The chicken meat is no joke, juicy and tender, with crispy skin and a delicate flavour similar to spring chicken. When cut, the chicken literally oozes fragrant, oily juices, revealing its white, tender meat within.

The fluffy rice served alongside was aromatic and full of chicken essence. The chalky cabbage soup was comforting, but the only downside was that it was served cold.
