Soft Tofu Stew
($12.90) tofu (big) > kimchi
Kimchi Stew
($12.90 w egg) kimchi > tofu (small) this is my first time dine in at rolling rice after takeaway their rolling rice so many times to home. They give a lot of ingredients inside the stew. They got unlimited side dish for miso soup and kimchi.
This is where I always head for my roast cravings! 88 Hong Kong Roast Specialist never disappoints. Their roast meat shines with crispy crackling and tender, juicy meat. The char siew is perfectly caramelised, balancing sweet and smoky flavours. Succulent roasted duck with aromatic spices completes the platter. Noodles are al-dente with a nice bite, topped with soft and gooey lava egg. The wantons are plump with a juicy filling, submerged in a light yet flavourful soup.

($6.90) I finally tried their ramen after trying their rice and bibimnoodle since my friend always order this most of time. But I find that their ramen was quite hard a bit and still got "q" texture. Pork was quite tough texture tbh.
Youโve read about the $3 fried rice in my previous posts, now let me introduce you to the Hor Fun from the same stall, which I found even tastier than their fried rice. The ingredients include fishcake, chicken, egg, and vegetables. The hor fun is first fried with soy sauce and dark sauce to achieve its distinct brown colour and infuse a bit of wok hei. It is then coated in a savoury, starchy, gooey, and eggy sauce that adds extra deliciousness and moistness to the noodles. The waiting time for them to cook this dish may be longer, but it is absolutely worth it. The portion is suitable for small eaters, although I believe even small eaters would need at least two plates because it is just that delicious.๐

That's right! Located at Pek Kio Market & Food Centre, this simple, humble, and honest stall is run by an elderly couple serving up old-school style fried rice. The ingredients are basic, consisting of chicken, fishcake, eggs, spring onions, and ikan bilis, but the proportion of rice to ingredients is generous. This plate of fried rice is suitable for small eaters. However, if you are a big eater, you should order at least two plates. It is tasty and savoury. Although it lacks wok hei, it is still a delicious and budget-friendly fried rice option.

A solid spot for wanton noodles.
The star here is the dish itself: springy noodles coated in a rich, savory sauce elevated by a subtly spicy chili that adds depth without overpowering.
The wantons are tender and well-executed, avoiding any rubbery texture.
While the char siew is nothing really special.
This Japanese eatery needs no introduction and our go-to spot for an affordable yet satisfying meal in town. ๐ฏ The grilled fish sets are simply unbeatable โ served with a bowl of rice, salad, miso soup, pickles, seasoned seaweed, and hot green tea. ๐
The star of the show? That grilled fish! Each bite is packed with succulent, meaty flakes and that rich, buttery flavour perfectly balanced with a sweet-salty miso glaze. ๐

Plum Soda ($5)
Strong, fizzy, and citrusy!
Ice Lemongrass ($3)
Smooth, lightly sweet and pleasant!
A bit underwhelming, not shiok enough! The portion was okay, but the cockles were too small to truly enjoy. The unique Thai flavours were there, and the spiciness was mild. Mehhhโฆ
Glass noodles soaked up the savoury soy and oyster sauce beautifully, making them super flavourful. Ginger and coriander roots add that authentic Thai touch. Served with sliced button mushrooms and five easy-to-deshell prawns. No need for rice as this dish alone will fill you up.
Pretty well executed! A big, fresh fish, sliced and neatly laid on a fish-shaped pan with heat below. Itโs then poured over with a savoury stock, further cooking the fish and infusing it with flavour. The addition of manao gives it a refreshing citrusy tang. The soup was rich, sweet, spicy, sourish, and umami, hitting that perfect Thai balance of flavours. The fish was soft, delicate, and fresh, we really enjoyed this one.
