Grasshopper: 9/10 (one of my favs bc I love the mint + flourless chocolate cake combo)
Banana cognac: 9/10 (another one of my favs bc I love the almond brittle + light banana whip combo)
Rum & Apple: 7/10 (The classic apple pie)
Toucan: 8/10 (love the tanginess of the passionfruit)
Strawberry Lemon: 6/10 (was too sour for my liking)
But overall, their pies never disappoint!
It’s my 2nd time here and I’m so glad the food & service didn’t disappoint😊.
。
Here's what we ordered that night:
Foie Gras Mousse, Heritage Sourdough - SGD14
Roasted Cauliflower, Jeweled Salad, Mini Yoghurt - SGD16
Chilean Seabass, Mushroom Bacon Ragout, Truffle Yuzu Butter Sauce - SGD38
Cold Pasta, Konbu, Truffle Oil - SGD24
36H Duck Confit, Truffle Emulsion, Mesclun, Lemon Mustard Vinaigrette - SGD24
Textures Of Coconut Ice-cream - SGD12 (No longer available)
。
If you ask me, the must-tries are definitely their foie gras mousse toast, cold pasta in truffle oil & konbu, and lastly the chilean seabass😋👍.
。
Had the same Chilean Seabass twice already, and I can't wait to have it again soon sia😂
It’s official, 2020 is the year I became a lamb-eater. Helping to seal the deal was this rendition of the meat by Chef Jay and his team at Cheek Bistro.
Although it was very slightly gamey (at least to super-sensitive me), I could overlook it as the combined charms of the melt-in-the-mouth fat and fine layer of crackling caramelised glaze (made from lamb jus and balsamic vinegar), were too lip-smackingly tasty.
Situated along a relatively quiet stretch on 233 Joo Chiat Road, Ky Anh Quan is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant that offers a diverse selection of specialities to choose from. Pho, Bun Cha, Banh Mi, Banh Xeo, Oc (Sea Snails), you name it.
。
👉Bun Cha Ha Noi - SGD9
👉Banh Mi - SGD5
。
Helmed and patronised mostly by Vietnamese nationals, you know the idea of disappointment is definitely not in the dictionary. The food may not be on par to the ones I had in Vietnam🇻🇳, but they certainly can satisfy your cravings!
。
P.S. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve any recommendations for Vietnamese fare.

From Ann Siang Hill in 2009 to SOTA, @kkisweets is finally back again🎉 with their beautifully😍 plated desserts, located at the ground level of @raffleshotelsingapore. Works on a reservation-only basis, walk-ins might not be welcomed🚷 due to limited seats and desserts per day. Since it’s our first time here, we decided to go for their more popular creations (based on IG).
。
👉”J” - SGD13.50
black sesame, yuzu, matcha
👉TEH - SGD9.50
earl grey, pear, hazelnut
。
Does anyone know why this cute little concrete plant pot is called “J”🤔? Aesthetically pleasing to the eyes👀, the black sesame pot is layered with matcha rice krispies, yuzu cremeux, and chocolate soil on the top. Just as good as it looks, each spoonful was a symphony🎶 of textures and flavours😋. However, it’s quite a pity that the flavour of matcha was muted down, thanks to the robust yuzu cremeux.
。
As for TEH, it’s an earl grey mousse cake with sweet pear chunks as its core, and finally decorated with toasted hazelnut crunch. Being the cheapest🤑 dessert on their menu, all the elements did come together in perfect harmony, leaving me craving🤤 for more.

Freaking good Mazesoba! I ordered the lunch set @$12 which comes with 2 meat sushi and a bowl of miso soup. The soba is the highlight! The soba is springy and mix well with the ingredients creating Creamy and flavourful taste. Halfway through you can add a bit of vinegar as per instruction at the counter to change the flavour.
P.S.: the meat sushi is pretty bad as the rice is hard, probably would order just the soba next time
Verdict: 4/5
I still remember how blown away I was when I had my first taste of Alvin’s (the owner) vermicelli; the aromatic, peppery and flavourful taste was so memorable that I constantly had cravings for it (even now as I’m typing this 😂🤭)! Each pot of vermicelli comes with a variety of fresh and succulent seafood options like prawns, crab, scallops, clams and even Boston lobster! My favourite will have to be the one with Tiger Prawns as featured here; so huge and fresh! Remember to pair it with their homemade chilli too, so so good!
All I can say is Shrimp Prawn Seafood is a must visit if you’re a seafood lover or a lover of food in general, if not you’re really missing out! They are truly a deserving winner of the Singapore Food Masters 2020 (Central Zone) Award!
Homemade baguettes made daily with the freshest ingredients to satisfy both your tummy and pocket.
Crusty and yummy but I wished there were more meat slices...
Do add SGD1 to try their iced Vietnamese coffee!

Helmed by Chef👨🍳 @malcolmleeee, @candlenutsg takes a contemporary yet authentic approach to traditional Straits-Chinese cuisine. Received a Michelin star since 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣6️⃣, the restaurant serves up refined Peranakan cusine that preserves the essence and complexities of traditional food, with modern twists🔀 that lift the often rich dishes to another level🤩.

And finally, not exactly the most important to me but their amazing service deserves a noteworthy mention☺️👍.
❗️Pro-tip: When asked if you want still or sparkling water, opt for free tap water🚰. That SGD9 you saved can almost get you their Classic Chendol Cream dessert😄.

@theoysterbank dishes out comfort food of Japanese🇯🇵 influence, with punchier flavours to tickle the Singaporean🇸🇬 taste bud. With raw food such as oysters🦪 (obviously?) at the core of their offerings, their philosophy is anchored on freshness and quality ingredients, nicely presented😍 in a no frills manner and yet with a moreish twist🔀.
👉Baked Mentaiko Oysters (6pcs) - SGD25.50
👉Aburi Salmon Don - SGD17.90
👉1/2 Bara Chirashi Don 1/2 Spicy Salmon Don - SGD17.90
So glad😊 that the oysters this time were bigger compared to my first visit around 1.5 years ago. Hopefully I will be able to eventually try all their oysters which come with a wide variety of accoutrements such as Ponzu, Cilantro Lime and even Chipotle Bourbon. As for their rice bowls, they were pretty decent👌, but nothing very memorable🙂.
🎉Enjoy half a dozen of naked oysters at SGD2++ each with a purchase of any alcoholic beverage! Valid Mon-Fri, 5-8PM & Sat-Sun, 3-6PM
⁉️Iced/Warm Tap water is not available😐
