Oozing and bubbling with goodness, this Claypot Bee Tai Mak is a unique variation of the normal soup based ones in Singapore. The Bee Tai Mak was rich thick in consistency, and fragrant with its rich soya sauce base. Throwing in a fresh raw egg for the mix, it results in a sinfully delightful dish.
Priced at $16.90, this Carbonara stands at the lower price range of dishes at The Ship. Oozing with creamy goodness, the restaurant is generous with its cream based sauce and its pasta was cooked to perfection. Complemented by its elegant and refined plating method, this plate brims with classic goodness.
iSteak offers customisable western platters, with a choice of our preferred protein and 2 complementary sides. The side of macaroni and cheese is not overly strong in its cheese flavour but offers a gooey and thick texture. The Barbecue chicken pictured is juicy and succulent, with a fragrant topping of potent barbecue sauce.
Deviating from the usual pork floss bun offerings in town, Bakerzin adopts a bread base of charcoal flavoured bread which is significantly much healthier than its typical counterparts with its detoxifying properties.
Play Kitchen offers restaurant quality pastas at prices no more than $10. Helmed by MediaCorp artiste Ben Yeo, it features pastas brimming with Singaporean flavour, whipping up local delights like Sambal Belachan Grilled Fish with Aglio Olio, and Suckling Chicken with Aglio Olio. I personally recommend the Laksa Prawn Spaghetti as pictured. Featuring a rich broth laced with coconut and flavourful spices, it reminds one of the quintessential laksa enjoyed at Hawker centres, without compromising the western flair of pasta, effectively merging Western and Asian cultures into one.
Another modern western affair in a slightly unusual place (aka hawker center) : Foodstruck. I love how the strong garlicky taste complement the richness of creamy salted egg sauce. Portion was so huge that I could only finish 2/3 of it while the seafood was generously served. Wish they had other types of pasta because honestly I hate spaghetti.
