I love Earl Grey! But lemongrass with it was a first. Whiff it with the cold dessert on our tongue and lemongrass definitely takes centre stage but Earl Grey lightly permeates in the background 👌🏻

It’s a fun eating experience!

from Aijisai Ramen 🍜

• Springy noodles ; good bite ✔️
• Crunchy Juicy Shoots ✔️
• Spicy Sprout salad (free flow) ✔️
• Vibrant Ramen Ware ✔️

The soup was fairly fragrant and reminiscent of the the more commonly understood umami tonkotsu broth, but also not quite there in flavour or creaminess. Also found it pretty oily for the lack of flavour that I would have expected from a portion of pork fat in my soup. 6/10 broth.

But can I just say, that little pink baguette piece is absolutely adorable.

With all its saves, I’d rate this a 7.5/10!

Loving the vibes, the coffee, the eggs(mildly leaning to a tinge more of doneness than the all famed counterpart that comes to mind aka Ya Kun)

Be pleased to find a slab of butter between the fluffy buns But I do love my crisp toasts and the smooth coconutty kaya Ya Kun boasts of better ☺️👌🏻

Clean tasting hot cuppa matcha for $5 in a nondescript space. (although it sure didn’t quite sound so idyllic idealistically for the purpose of a stealaway)

You know how matcha can get too greenly watery without much of any tea scents or some would be too overly sweet while others can get too overwhelmingly potent to the point of a powdery bitter?
Particularly not a fan of those with an astringent aftertaste.

I can appreciate that this cup served up is well balanced in its strength without any odd notes or aftertaste.

Although, I would have preferred if sugar wasn’t added by default or have been offered up as an option; well, just like any true self-respecting avid Matcha lover would have desired. #purist

It was Ikkousha day on JPassport, bringing this to $9.40 taxes included.
First had this years back when they were still with Ramen Champion. Ordered Hard noodles with Light soup broth.

Ikkousha’s noodles somehow get soggy real quick and I’ll recommend ordering Hard or Very Hard. Even Hard got wimpy 10minutes into the meal.

For folks who love the rich umami flavours, this will be a bowl of perfectly textured tonkotsu love for you 😍 (creamy but not overly cloying to palate)

I also found a perfect combination of light soup base to douse the spicy pickled mustard greens and garlic in to really up your ramen game! (P.S. normal soup might just get too salty 2/3 of the meal through)

Eggs wise: a little disappointing to not be able to find the run in the ajitama yolk!
AND, we were only given 2 free hard boiled eggs per person.. 😱😭

+ I sure like striping kewpie mayonnaise over my hard boiled eggs as like their commonly compared ramen counterpart (Keisuke) would provide for their customers.
