tried 2 types of Ppong and the Jajangmyeon and they were not very impressive. the star was the sweet potato pizza (pictured)
first impression... tables not cleared despite the place being not crowded. we have to help clear (by moving the plates and cups to other uncleared table) so that we can have a table.
not impressed with the waffles (had pandan waffles)
wide variety of ice cream to choose from.
based on what I ordered,
ondeh ondeh tasted a little "plastic"
hazelnut rocher is fine
pistachio (the baby scoop) is the saving grace
flat white was so-so
was asked to give 5* in Google review to get a free cookie on the spot but I wanted to taste first and glad I did because i don't think it deserves 5*
the last time I visited this unit, it was Suprette.
cosy casual environment with a retro theme.
not a lot of tables so safer to make reservations.
good for groups as the dishes are suitable for sharing so can enjoy a variety.
What we ate:
Ugly Cabbage in Fish Sauce
Salt-baked Whole Barramundi
Chef Joel's BBQ Pork Cheek (photo)
Grandma's Te Kah Beehoon (S)
Shiok Minced Prawn Patties
Baby Squid
Thai Milk Tea
used it for this burger and a farmer's sausage.
Sat crowd a bit crazy but service could have been better.
scan QR code and order and pay.
not sure if I heard correctly....banchan is free flow.
the bibimbap I had was rather big portion.
sauce given separately and mix whatever amount you prefer.
one of the better quality bibimbaps I ever had.
burpple beyond set $18.80
2 S-sized sliced beef noodles, 2 sides and 2 drinks.
gravy a little too salty. but I always like to dilute a little with soup. (less sticky)
sides and drinks were good.
friendly staff.
purposely chose to come by on a weekday late afternoon so no queue
waffles with Roasted Pistachio
good quality ice cream
had better waffles elsewhere (personal preference)
overall decent and worth it.
I visit this cafe every 2-3 mths since it's nearby.
recently the beyond deal has undergone some changes. it now include burgers and a compulsory truffles mushroom soup and also charges 10% gst.
food had always been no issue...
had the truffle mushroom soup first time today. it's really watery and the truffle override the mushroom taste. the usual price is $6.90 somemore.
understand it's under 1for1 but it does not elevate the dining experience.
pretty refreshing
I feel that can do wo the truffle....
btw, menu in Beyond is not updated.
#burpplebeyond #1for1
everything quite on point
very friendly prices
good service even though full house
a bit "cosy" though. tables very close to one another.
accept cash, paylah, paynow.
from Pickupp $34.78
expected it to be more tender.
goes well with the sauce.
the potatoes stole the show.
