Added Golden mushrooms ($3.50), Konjac($3.50) and Long Cabbage ($3.50). The Konjac came separately but what surprised me was that the golden mushrooms and cabbage were hidden within the fish. Chose this dish as we were afraid that the other flavours were going to be too spicy for us to handle and this was the only non-spicy, non-numbing choice. This was on the salty side so it definitely needs white rice to balance out the saltiness. Although we cannot handle foods that are too spicy, we do think this dish could add little spiciness as the saltiness itself makes it a bit jelak after a while. The addition of the golden mushrooms were pretty good call though as it soaks up the sauce really well. The fish was also of a pretty good size too. Overall not too bad.
Have you taken yours?
Here we have:
✅ Blackforest Ham with Scrambled Egg ($5.90 nett for breakfast set with Coffee/Tea)
Nothing to wow about but it is quite comforting if you are looking for a simple breakfast. A pretty good deal for $5.90 nett
✅ Strawberry Cake ($6.08++)
This piece of cake is pretty big sized but we have no problem finishing it as the flavour profile is on the lighter side with the fresh strawberries to give the cake a hint of tartness.
✅ Cake of the Week ($6.45++)
This is one thick, creamy cheesecake. Decadent goodness! Yums
✅ Rye Beurli ($1.87++)
Simple rye bread but I got it toasted so it was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Pretty good!
Rich and decadent but I would recommend to share this dessert with a friend because it is quite rich, which might be too overwhelming to have it alone.
✅ Mont Blanc ($9.50++)
I won’t usually order Mont Blanc as I’m worried that the large amount of cream might make it very jelak but this is surprisingly good. Not too sweet or heavy and the fragrance of the chestnut comes through really well. One on my favourites desserts of the day!
✅ Strawberry Shortcake ($8.50++)
Classic dessert with layers of moist vanilla cake, juicy strawberries and fluffy whipped cream. Simple and delicious!
Danish pastry with red bean? Never seen this concoction before and so we ordered it to try. This is indeed one unique pastry...definitely not your typical Danish pastry. Served warm and toasted, and flaky. The level of sweetness of the Japanese red bean filling was also just perfect. Totally recommended to give this a try! Yums
This is one huge sandwich! Just look at the outstanding layers...perfectly toasted sourdough bread with grilled Chicken, fried egg, avocado, grilled Schulz bacon, lettuce and aioli. Comes with a side salad to cut the grease. The combination of flavours is just perfect. Totally worth the buck for its deliciousness and portion size in my opinion.
One of the cheapest burgers on the menu but the one with the strongest flavours. Really liked spicy, sweet sambal but the fish filet was a bit small.
Smells really good when it arrived at the table but upon tasting, we felt that the flavours were not strong enough. Not too bad but we definitely expected more from it!
One of the most if not the most expensive burger on the menu. I liked that they served the Chili crab sauce by the side so that the Soft shell crab retains its crispness and dippers or pourers can enjoy them however they like it. Taste wise, not too bad
Not outstanding but not too bad either. I have to say it’s a pretty good deal with drinks and icecream and no GST and service charge
Roasted potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon, arugula, toasted sourdough, eggs and sausage of our choice. We ordered 2 sets so we tried both the cheesy chicken and spicy pork sausage. We preferred the spicy pork sausage which was more flavourful. Cheesy chicken sausage was not that bad but eating a whole sausage might be a little jelak so half half of each like what we did gives you the best of both worlds! Overall a hearty and delicious breakfast
