Skip the brunch items and dive Straight to these fluffy magic pancakes .
I think there is some magic in these - keeps you coming back .
What better than buttery , soft and airy pancakes in their weather .
For a 20 dollars set , pretty ok value for a cosy restaurant on the heart of town.
Would be better if the chicken was grilled rather than fried .
Nonetheless fresh sashimi and a good variety set menu .
The best rendition of chilled pitan toufu I have ever had.
Perfect for this weather.
The pidan sauce is authentic and the toufu is so evidently homemade from its sightly denser but very enjoyable texture - since this holds the crab meat within well !
Amazing flavours .
While most Chiong for the egg tarts , this is still my personal favourite.
Coconut shavings , butter , sugar came together and did a symphony.
As good if not better than the ones I had in HK.
( some bakeries in Hk have very stiff breads - the ones here are intensely moist and fluffy )
Intensely chewy and smooth inaniwa udon with a flavourful soup base and good quality kitsune which are soft and not too sweet.
I have tried so many Versions and cedele’s one is probably the best for me.
Hard to come by handmade paus with homemade fillings these days
This black sesame pau is definitely a must-have !

In a relatively new establishment by Sim’s ngoh hiang - a family start up during the covid period.
They are famed for their ngoh hiangs as I see from social media but what really recalled wowed me was the fried shrimp bee Hoon and that wicked chilli. The bee Hoon was tasty but not salty , moist but not greasy. Not something that can be achieved easily without a master behind the wok. Feels like food from your mum’s kitchen.
Must must order that fried bee Hoon ! Amazing .
Best I have had .
Interesting vibes in the coffee shop .
Go for the dumpling noodles ( check out my earlier post ) 🥰
Nested in an old old coffeeshop at Onan / crane road 🥰
Don’t look left or right -
Just dive in straight to these plump shrimp dumplings with huge fresh prawns inside.
As good as the ones my mum used to make for us - all the good stuff inside .
They also make a pretty good wanton noodles but go for the shrimp dumplings.
Well roasted HK style char siew and crisp pork belly - pretty underrated stall at the first floor of Hong life hawker .
Chef Jackson used to work in various high end cantonese restaurants so you get then bang for your buck here .
Must also try his char Siew wanton noodles. QQ noodles and a good homemade chilli sauce .
Delectable!
