Love it. So good. Flavourful in every spoonful. I had this with the 2 different types of chilli. Happiness in each mouthful.
We ordered the sliced grouper fish soup (Medium, $8) and the seafood soup (Medium, $9). The fish soup was great and very tasty, though my counterpart felt it was a tad salty. Fish was fresh! The seafood soup was decently good as well and the prawns firm. You can see from the photo how rich the soup broth is. It's pretty expensive for the meal but I may consider a return as it's really flavourful.
Haven't been to Ya Kun for a long time and realised their prices had increased steeply. A medium-sized Kopi O costs $1.80. Still fragrant.
Matcha fan here, so the moment I am able get my hands off something in this flavour, this would be my 1st choice. Enjoyed this (i.e. Uji Matcha) as always, at $2.20 with the azuki beans flavour standing out strong. Bought the original flavour (i.e. Fluffy Cream Roll) for my kids, at $1.90 each. Something light and soft as tea. Chateraise never fails.👍
Had been wanting to try out this place for a while due to its proximity to my workplace. However, I went with a stuffed tummy during tea time, so couldn't eat much. The carrot cake and the almond croissant are 2 items nothing to shout out about. Perhaps a little dry. The beverage was also ordinary. Wrong choice of food items, I suppose. Would consider coming back for other mains on the brunch menu.
Assortment of matcha, lotus biscoff, peanut butter chocolate, sea salt chocolate, red velvet and nutella all in a box at $22. These cookies are so chunky! I personally find them a little too sweet though. Being a matcha lover, I was disappointed that the matcha flavour was not detected, not too sure if the sweetnees of the white chocolate overpowered the matcha flavour. My daughter enjoyed the Red Velvet one. I prefer their taro burnt cheesecake, which I re-ordered within a month.
Ordered these cream puff at the store's opening special at 5 for $9. 3 flavours sold. The Hokkaido cream, chocolate and matcha flavour. The matcha flavoured one was unfortunately sold out. Chilled them before consumption and it was great. The crispiness lends itself to a good texture, which complemented the cream. Will be back to try out the matcha flavour.
I like the texture of the springy noodles and fishball. Portion is not big, hence expensive for the quantity. Also, there is service charge imposed, apart from the price shown. No doubt there is an aunty serving us by bringing the food items to our table, but it unnecessarily made the expensive meal more pricey than it should be. 😭
We ordered 2 beef burgers and 2 chicken burgers (one crispy, one grilled), 2 FAT fries and one coke for $31.80, with 2 BB deals on Mains redeemed. It would have been quite pricey without the deals but the grilled chicken was really fresh and tender. My counterparts enjoyed their burgers too. You can see how large the meat is. We all agreed that the FAT fries was really good and would come back if we like to splurge a little more on more expensive fast food.
We ordered the flourless cake, white chocolate butterscotch cake, fat (hot) chocolate and black coffee (not in photo). I particularly liked the flourless chocolate, topped with a crusty, crumbly crust. My son loved the butterscotch cake and couldnt stop at a few mouthfuls. The hot chocolate was really good, served with a chocolate truffle on a stick to be stirred into the drink. We enjoyed our choice of tea delights. Was torn between various food options at the Star Vista but glad we decided on this. Slightly under $30 for all items.
It was a birthday delivery surprise and boy, it was a surprise no doubt. The taro that was embedded was generous and complemented the cheese flavour. Hubby, who is never a cheesecake lover, gave this a thumbs up. Will definitely consider this for a future birthday celebration. 🥳
We ordered the large-sized portion for 2 adults and 2 children. With ingredients top-up e.g. enoki mushrooms, meat ball, tao kee and youtiao, it came out to $21. It was a hearty, herbal and simmering hot meal which satisfied our cravings for something soupy. The ingredients thrown in were generous.
