Mala Yuanyang Hotpot at Ximending has good reviews online and it was packed when we got there. There was a waiting list, but we managed to get a seat after 30 minutes.
You get to choose two out of five types of beef or pork. The funny thing is that the seafood and chicken here are free flow! And so are the Haagen Dazs and Movenpick ice cream!

A plate of pasta costs NT150, equivalent to about SGD$7. If I were to dine at this price at Singapore Zoo, it will probably be at the food court and not at a cafe/ restaurant.

This cafe overlooks the panda enclosure and you can see the pandas (mainly sleeping).

There are many flavours and we chose Curry and Salt & Pepper. Both tasted equally good!

I realised the zoos in Japan and Taiwan are very affordable! The entrance fee costs NT60, which is equivalent to less than SGD$3! We got a whole box of this really cute tree frog egg pancake for NT100.

Yes, it's not the usual glutinous rice! Also, they have a smelly toufu version too! Simply delicious! 👍🏼👍🏼

Oriental beauty tea and French raspberry ice cream 🍦 (NT150). We were drawn by the colourful decor of the shop. The lady was really friendly and let us sample ALL the flavours before buying.
