Love the doneness of their steamed fishes, always on point!
For 4 pax brunch, we ordered soon hock tail in 豆瓣酱 猪油渣 (bean paste sauce with pork lard) and a grouper Hong Kong style.
The braised pork trotters were flavourful and tender, the meat and fats literally melts in your mouth.
There are also other dishes available from the display and also from their menu.
Prepare to queue for both seats and ordering of food but definitely worthwhile! Prices are reasonable too.
Superb fried chicken and waffles with spiced watermelon! Repeat patron. Remember to have their chicken with their in house bourbon maple syrup and hot sauce.
Their crab cakes were good too.
Good to make reservations as they can get quite packed on weekends especially.
Good selection of brunch food with nice ambience and facade. Had the wagyu beef pie which was yummy! Meat was tender and flavourful. My dining companions had the big breakfast and smashed avocado with mushrooms on ciabatta. Both were great too!
Special mention was their strawberry shortcake which was moist and the fresh cream strawberry made it so palatable. The cornflakes crust added texture to the cake.
Was seated indoors which had Aircon therefore it was cooling. The outdoor seats have standing fans.
Attended a corporate lunch - 3 courses; 1 starter, 1 main and 1 dessert.
Had the lemongrass and ginger prawn salad which has mango, tomato, glass noodles and ginger flower dressing which was refreshing. The serving was generous.
Had the salmon fillet with asparagus, pearl cous cous, Yuzu, coconut, soft herbs. Salmon cooked to the right doneness and the coconut taste was different in a good way.
Didn’t include in my photo is the dessert which is a seasonal scoop of ice cream.
Will be back to try their full menu.
Ordered a set meal for 4-5 pax which included:
1. Hanjip platter (USDA prime ribeye, USDA prime boneless short rib, pork belly, marinated pork collar)
2. Wagyu Beef platter A (+$5)
3. Soup: ginseng soup
4. Stew: choose spicy tofu stew
5. Pancake: seafood (+$2)
6. Dish: choose Korean fried chicken (+$2)
7. Japchae
8. Bancha
Visited in Nov 2022, at this time of this review, did not see the above set meal in their website, therefore not sure if it’s still available.
We also ordered beef tongue and spicy chicken feet. Of course not forgetting beer (Cass draft) and soju.
Food was for 6 pax and super yummy! Definitely a place for beef lover!
Special mention to service staff Joe: super attentive and very helpful!
Came to dine for a weekday dinner. Seated on the second floor. Ordered Shira Cognac Beef short ribs with coleslaw and chili beef fries while my partner ordered Bourbon BBQ pork ribs with corn bread and asparagus.
Taste of the beef short ribs was good however would be good if there was some vegetables like carrots as the meat was quite rich towards the end. The chili beef fries was delightful! The fries was crunchy, the chili beef had a nice texture to it (spotted capsicum and beans), taste wise was addictive! Would definitely order it next time.
The bourbon BBQ pork ribs was flavourful however not as fork tender. The corn bread had good texture with corn kernels in it. Love that they took effort to grill the asparagus for the smoky flavour.
We also ordered draft beer on tap which was good, fresh and crisp. Service was attentive too, service staff came to check on us and another table seated beside us.
I was there for their weekend dim sum brunch buffet on the 25th Sept last month and was pleasantly surprised. They offer a good variety and quality food with a modern twist. Few to mention are the must try IMO: baby abalone Shumai, Peking duck roll, duo prawn combination, Australian striploin, sweet & sour kurobuta pork, Cantonese style hor fun and Wagyu fried rice (lots of wok hei), deep fried sesame ball.
Must orders are the specially crafted delights which are 1 serving per item per pax which means you get to order all 3 items on the menu once: mini Buddha jump over the wall, braised sliced abalone with sea cucumber and steam Boston lobster. Full of flavours and doneness done right!
My party of 4 also opted for the “SIP”, unlimited beverages which include cocktails, wine and beer. No surprises we were happily focused on the cocktails throughout our 2 hour brunch. Despite a small cocktail menu of 5, superb SUPERB cocktails - I meant all of the 5. Good range from sweet, easy to drink to stronger in taste profile smokier. Love the portofino which was their signature - fruity. East mule was great too with herbaceous and hint of spice.
The amount of alcohol was just right for brunch - no one wants drunk and noisy customers during service. Appreciative of the additional alcohol strength for the last rounds of drinks. The SIP menu also included mock tails, tea, soft drinks and juices which we didn’t order.
Service was great, food came timely (restaurant was about 70% capacity). Lighting at table was sufficient bright with dimer lightings in the dining hall.
Ordered 5 different flavours + 1 waffle with maple syrup. Interesting flavours that includes peach & lemongrass, Sakura smoke + artichoke + pear compote.
Highly recommend the pistachio & Himalayan salt, and also the dark chocolate & orange peel 👍🏼
Wasn’t planning to order their mochi waffle but the friendly staff asked if I would like to order and honestly, did not regret a bit. Super yummy mochi waffle.
Cheat code: request for crispier waffle which will compliment the chewy mochi interior.
Also would like to commend on the great service by 3 male staff manning the place. Very helpful and accommodating.
Ordered delivery for a box of MSW durians and a tub of MSW ice cream.
The durians were creamy bitter sweet with slight alcoholic taste. Seeds were flat and small.
The MSW ice cream was equally good, there were durian pulps inside giving it a good texture
Love the dishes are tasting portions which all went well with sake.
Esp love the gyu tongue; good bite to it and juicy, not overdone. And also the maguro yukke which was served with raw quail egg.
Their selection of sakes was impressive and love that they have options of 180ml for house pour sake.
Tried a dry and also a sweet 180ml sake house pours which were complementing to the dishes. Thanks to the staff who had great sake recommendation.
Great experience! Good service though the place was very packed on a Tuesday day. Probably good to reserve a table.
