Argentinian Prawn | $26 This was a dollar more expensive than the birria, but I’d get this any day over the latter. Though not the kind of cheesy goodness you’ll get with a birria taco, this was refreshing and delightful. The Argentinian garlic prawns was grilled to perfection to give that slight Smokey flavour, not withstanding them being huge and fresh. The combination of Thai mango salad and cilantro gave an appetising boost to every bite. The chipotle mayonnaise added that slight creaminess and light spice to it, and they all the elements added up together very well. That being said, it’s more worth it at Lavi Taco’s if you use the burpple deal since it guarantees you some discount, though it also presents some limitations in flavours - such as not being able to go for this dish, and timings that you can eat there. Masala Lamb Birria | $25 For 2 pieces and pretty little stew by the side my first thought was how unaffordable it was. The masala lamb deep fried taco was not as oily as I’d expected, but the gaminess of the lamb was much more overpowering, to the point the masala felt like a little tingle. In fact, when you dip the taco into the birria, it’s unlikely that you’d get much masala flavour. Cheesy with a decent amount of meat, but, I would go for the other tacos instead. Rate:🌟🌟🌟

False advertising by establishment The deal was clearly stated as a 1-1 smoothie bowl with homemade lemonade. We ordered a $15 smoothie bowl, with the lemonade costing $6. With the 1-1 offer, the discount should have been $21. In addition, the deal stated that $2 will be taken off the bill if we changed the homemade lemonade to a house drink (of which we chose a small flat white that’s of a lower price than the lemonade). This however didn’t happen and a total of only $12 was taken off the bill. It’s not about the absolute amount, it’s about being upfront with your deal and honouring it fully and unfortunately this wasn’t done.

Tropicana (Part of $25Nett Burpplebeyond deal + Top Ups for change of drinks) Call this “white trash food” but I loved my Sunday “lunch” on a hot afternoon recently that was sweetened with Burpplebeyond. Paying $30++ for a coffee, matcha latte and 2 smoothie bowls I was still pleased despite this not being the usual burpple 1 for 1 deal. My Tropicana smoothie bowl had a deliciously smooth and rich blend of the stipulated tropical fruits (mangoes, banana pineapples) together with coconut milk. As crunches there is also a good portion of granola with nuts. True to its picture fresh, although tart, green kiwi slices and cubed white dragonfruits were garnished on this beautiful bowl. We want to come back for the açai breeze.

Double Toast & Homemade Lemonade (Weekdays Only) (~save $30) The Social Space’s menu is simple but honestly good! Expect feel-good breakfast or brunch staples in the form of open-face toasts served on chunky slices of toasted French sourdough as well as smoothie bowls which come in natural coconut husks.

Ayam Rendang Set with Vegetables If you familiar with the oldest Nyonya restaurant in Singapore, then you should know the name of Guan Hoe Soon. Straits Chinese is managed by Guan Hoe Soon Group and has a few outlets here. One of them is located at the second level of Esplanade Mall, serving their authentic Nyonya foods right at the centre of city. Since I came along, so I went for their rice individual set menu. The set comes with a plate of ayam rendang, chap cai and blue pea rice. They are flavourful but not distinctive enough as compared to some Nyonya restaurants I been to unfortunately. Best to come here in group and enjoy more of their dishes.

Overpriced Prawns Ordered the prawns for $20.80 and the serving was only 4 pieces! Also ordered the beef rendang which was quite dry.

Durian Pengat Each diner gets just this small portion. But okay lah it's not the best. It felt a bit not like real durian or not fresh.

Crispy Skin Pork Knuckles a.k.a Schweinshaxe This beloved traditional dish from Germany is highly regarded by many meat lovers. The restaurant tries to replicate the taste and texture of the traditional pork knuckle served from a Bavarian restaurant. I would say the pork knuckle was quite well cooked, with a crispy and flavorful skin but I at least expect to find tender and succulent meat beneath it. Nevertheless, the portion size was generous, making it a hearty meal worthy of at least 2 adults. This dish was served with the traditional sides like sauerkraut and mash potatoes, they were fine but I expected a little more. Overall, the ambience of the environment made up for the overall experience. There is room for potential. If you are someone looking to experience German culinary pork knuckles is always recommended.

Burratina Orriechiete Delicious! Portions were good (not too large). I really appreciate their service staff. For this pasta 1-1, we also tried Carbona - it was very creamy and delicious, nice bacon. Easy to make reservations through Burrple/Chope.

Pizza Pancetta E Jalapeno $30++ My favourite pizza because I absolutely love anything with bacon and cheese! What’s even better was the white cream sauce they use instead of tomato sauce as the base sauce for the pizza, which gave the pizza the creamy and cheesy boost on top of the cheese toppings and made the whole pizza so flavourful with the bacon and the chewy pizza crust.
