The difference btw level 3 & 4 was quite subtle, but the indomie helped to quell the spice and had a nostalgic taste (cos it’s indomie!!!). A classic indeed.

Smash chicken: The chicken was really flavourful & spicy, and the spice intensity started to increase after the chilli hit the back of your throat 🥲. Spice lovers would honestly love this!!

Rex chicken: The portion of chicken was smaller than the other dishes, but the chicken was well-marinated and not overly tough. The side of achar was very refreshing and provided a nice tang to the meal 👌👌

Loved this dish the most as the blue pea rice was aromatic & coconut-y. The prawns seemed spicy but they weren’t very spicy! The koropok was crisp too, but it got a lil soggy after a while so do eat them first! :,)

• Beef Kofta Shakshuka ($16): 5.5/10
Similarly, the eggs were poached well and we enjoyed the bits of red pepper and tomato within. The sourdough was okay but we felt that the beef kofta was so negligible that we forgot that there was beef :,). I personally wouldn’t order this again.

Steak & Egg Bowl ($14): 6.5/10
The steak and sous vide egg were executed well that day, while the mushrooms, kale and bread stick complemented the entire dish amazingly. One thing though, the rice beneath was slightly over cooked and mushy. 💦

• Rustic Meatball Linguine ($14): 2/10
Okie I’ve been wanting to try the pastas so I finally did and oh boy...... I was so disappointed. The linguine was really mushy, the tomato sauce wasn’t well-seasoned and the beef meatballs were tough as heck. I barely managed to finish half of the pasta and I cannot imagine paying for this at full price. 🥺 Sadly, my dining companion felt the same way too so this is a major no go.
** not sure if I should’ve ordered the bacon & prawn Aglio Olio instead but oh wells major regrets

Pulled Pork Eggs Ben ($14): 7.5/10
Tried this a few months back and I was happy that the eggs were poached well + the brioche was crisp yet fluffy 👌👌

Wasn’t expecting myself to like this cake THIS much but something about the perfectly torched meringue and the tangy yuzu + cakey cake made me super happy while eating this. 🤩👅 pls get this cake to try (or give it to me tia 🤪)

• Orh Nee: 7/10
Was pretty hyped for this and I thought it’d be a 9 haha but we felt that it wasn’t as decadent as we’d like it. The yam paste was normal tbh but I appreciate the yam chunks that provided great texture.

• Goma Kinako Mochi Roll: 8/10
I love all 3 components in this cake but our roll was deformed and a lil smol 🥲. The cake itself didn’t scream GOMA but there was a hint of sesame in the cream and streusel. I’d totally just get the kinako mochi on top though keke.

This cake was really mousse-y too but the darkness of the Valrhona Guanaja really did an amazing job at cutting through all that richness. One thing though, I’d wish for more of that hazelnut dacquoise and feuilletine to provide more cronch!! 🤤

Okie disclaimer first: I’m not a fan of mousse-y cakes and this was a strawberry mousse cake, thus I found it really jelat. The saving grace was the centre of this cake which consists of some cronchy sunflower seeds, cream and elderflower jelly (which I really enjoy!).

Really happy whenever I see this sweet ptt bun/bread appear magically at home - truly one of life’s simple pleasures 🤩 I love how the sweet ptt just tastes so natural within the bread, without being too cloying (even though it’s carbs on carbs 🤪)

If you haven’t tried this yet, just imagine having a warm fluffy pau with coarsely mashed purple sweet ptt (✨texture✨) on a rainy day.... 💯
Pls do get this and the yam one whenever you can + always warm it up before eating for max happiness!!! 🤪🤟

Pro tip: if you’re really lazy to steam paus, just spritz a teeny bit of water on the pau surface & pop it in the microwave for 30-45s (dep on the settings!) & voila!!! 🤟🤩
