Also tried their Dirty Matcha for $7, it was pretty good but the coffee kinda overpowered the matcha a little and the small size of the glass wasn’t worth $7 imo. Still nubbad! Would stick to mains.
🍔 B Supreme Burger
📍The Assembly Ground (@theassemblyground)
📌 The Cathay / Cineleisure
💰 $24++
Probably my favourite item from @theassemblyground that I’ve tried by far. This burger is hella bussin, the beef patty is cooked nicely and is incredibly juicy and thicc. It also comes with a fried egg with a perfect flowy yolk. The other elements, which are the sauteed mushrooms, bacon, melty cheese and mayonnaise are so savoury and absolutely sinful yet so worth it.
The curly fries are super crispy and the portions are generous too. A really fantastic burger, super filling and will definitely have it again!

🍰 Chicken Floss Lava Cake
📍Nestcha (@nestcha.sg)
📌 Haji Lane
💰 2 for $8.50
Chicken floss cakes are probably some of the most delicious creations on the planet. NestCha's version of a 肉松小贝 comes filled with soy cream instead of the usual mayonnaise, making it a lighter and "healthier" option.
As with all chicken floss cakes, this is hella good. The cake is soft and sweet while the chicken floss is also sweet, but has a slight savoury element to it, making it more exciting and robust in flavour. The soy cream is light and a little bit sweet too, it complements the cake well without being too overwhelming.
I’ve tried NestCha’s Yam version of this cake and it was pretty great too, generally love NestCha’s unique products!

🥧 Chocolate Banana Pie
📍Tokyo Kitchen (@tokyokitchensg)
📌 Northpoint City
💰 $10
Thick ass pies >>> Ive always loved those Japanese restaurants offering the huge pie slices, and Tokyo Kitchen in Northpoint City is another spot selling these. Ngl the cross section isnt super neat but the taste is what matters.
Generally I found there to be a bit too much cream for my liking. There could have been more actual cake. The tart base itself was fragrant though.
Quite a standard pie, a little pricey honestly so I dont think I’d get again.

🥐 Citrus Milky Snow Croon
📍Bakery Brera (@bakerybrera)
📌 8 Empress Road
💰 $7.50
Too many circular croissants out there but here’s Bakery Brera’s take on it, made with lemon curd on the inside I believe. Its pretty light and tangy with a nice amount of sweetness to balance out the citrus. The croissant gets a bit soggy on its own so its best to heat it in the oven first.

🥧 Strawberry St Honoré Tart
📍Delicatesse (@delicatesse.sg)
📌 Tanjong Pagar
💰 $9.50
Been seeing Delicatesse all over my feed for a while now and I finally went down to visit them. This Strawberry St Honore Tart stands out in particular because of the addition of whole macarons to its already loaded heap of fillings.
Honestly I was a little underwhelmed because the cream tasted a bit cheap and the strawberry flavour itself wasn't very natural. The tart base was a bit too thick too, and tasted a bit one dimensional. I did like the macarons though, they were crisp and chewy on the inside.
Has some improvements to be made in terms of the quality, but it does look pretty.

🥢Abalone Prosperity Yu Sheng ($48.80 / $68.80)
Pretty solid yu sheng! Comes with many abalones and your classic yu sheng ingredients.
🍜Honey BBQ Chicken Chop Noodles ($9.80)
Another really meh dish, the chicken chop was kinda dry and the noodles were bland. The sauce wasn’t sweet or salty enough so the whole thing fell a bit flat.
🍚Abalone Crabmeat Fried Rice ($13.80)
Quite disappointing, the rice was mushy and bland and honestly tasted like something I’d cook at home (I am not a good cook fyi). Not worth the price at all.
🍠Purple Sweet Potato Rice Cake ($6.80)
My favourite! Tastes like nian gao, but with a sweet potato element. This was really chewy and mochi-like, must try.
🍤Crispy Salted Egg w Shrimp Roll ($7.80)
Really liked this, the salted egg really shines and the shrimp was juicy too.
🍞Snow Red Bean w Salted Egg Bun ($6.80)
I think the ratio of salted egg to red bean could have been more equal because there was more red bean throughout all the buns, but generally pretty solid. Fluffy buns too.
