Highly raved about for its scrambled eggs, we dragged our tired bodies to try it the day we arrived in HK. I ordered the Tea Set which comes with toast + eggs (scrambled or sunny side up) and ham, soupy spaghetti (or macaroni) with slightly sweet slices of char siew/pork chop, and a choice of milk tea or coffee. Sorry I honestly can't rmb the prices of food I had in HK because they contain too many digits. 😳 Though the scrambled eggs were nice and gooey (definitely above average texture wise), they were too salty for our tastes. The spaghetti was typical HK cafe stuff. Gotta admit this was underwhelming given our expectations. BUT the place was bustling even at 9pm and we have SO MANY friends who swear by it. I'll be back to try the steamed milk or egg pudding, which is another popular item. ☺️

This was my first time having mazesoba (dry ramen)! It reminded me of bak chor mee, but that would be an insult to the delightfully chewy noodles in this mazesoba. The proper way to have this is to mix all the toppings including the egg evenly to create a rich tasty sauce that coats the noodles. But I was still a little disappointed when my gooey egg disappeared 😅 this was a bit salty for me but I really loved the noodles! When you are done with the noodles, you can ask for a bit of rice to mop up the sauce. But even without that extra portion of rice, I was stuffed!

An omelette in a skillet, with blobs of chewy buffalo mozzarella and feta topped with grilled zucchini and kale purée. The red sauce was similar to sriracha. I like the fluffy lightness of the omelette and the salty pungent flavour the cheese added to it. This was really tasty heaped onto the crusty sourdough on the side. The veggies were a nice healthy touch though they didn't add much in terms of flavour.

Amazing beef tenderloin - perfectly seared on the outside (a little crisp even!!) and very very juicy and tender inside. I also really enjoyed the Barolo red wine sauce. This is also available on the executive set lunch menu (add $14).

Marche at JEM has quite an affordable lunch menu. Each main is ~$10 and you can add $6.50 for a soup, a homemade drink (lemonade or lemon tea), and a coffee or cup of ice cream. I had this pizza as my main today (a Tuesday; the other choice of main was a beef crepe). It was huge, and the prawns were very tasty. The add-ons also made this an extremely filling lunch.

Squid was a little rubbery, but the seafood was generous and fresh. The squid ink-tomato sauce was really tasty!

Besides waffles and ice-cream, Sunday Folks also has some pretty good cakes! We had the weekday cake and tea set, which came up to $10.70 incl of gst. We ordered the recommended matcha chiffon w white choc frosting and osmanthus sencha pairing. Loved the cake!! The chiffon was very soft, light and moist, and even with the decadent white choc frosting, its sweetness was just right.

I think I'm late to the party (again :() but I must say this crepe cake is soooo gud! I love the texture of the crepe layers, and the chocolate cream is really good! None of the watered down nonsense. I would advise skipping the original crepe cake because the vanilla cream just doesn't taste that great. I've also tried the Banana Mille Feuille and Gateau Au Chocolat but I personally feel that they are nothing spectacular. Uh I really can't say that Lady M's cakes are affordably priced ($9 per slice....🤑) but if you wanna treat yourself, go for this! 😋

Made myself kimchi stew following Maangchi's recipe on YouTube and it was really quite legit! Hooray! You can get all the ingredients you need from a K-Mart so pls try making it instead of reaching for the instant sort next time! It is worth the (minimal) washing up. 😋

Ah a disappointment. Taste-wise, it was alright though the ingredients have been prepared long beforehand so don't expect this to be like one of those fresh, crisp dragonrolls/makis. The portion was quite small as well. For $5.50, you only get half a roll of kimbap.

Read raving reviews of the curry fish head from West Coz... But this was disappointing. :( the fish head had very very little meat, and was extremely fishy! The curry was really delicious but even the strong spices couldn't mask the nauseating fishiness. :(
