If you're here for the croissant, be prepared to come early as they sell out very quickly. I came here at around lunch time and was left with one fudge brownie (so fudgy, rich and solid - but I don't have its photo), milk toast, and a couple of other pastries and bakes. I got the iced latte as well - so smooth, not bitter, had more milk than coffee for my liking but still enjoyable nonetheless. The staff were attentive, patient and friendly. They gave great advice on the items too!

Aesthetically pleasing space with nice coffee and airy ambience. Great for takeaways given the proximity to shops, museums and open spaces, but when it is not crowded it is a great hangout space too!

Fluffy french toast, two slabs of butter, generous servings of kaya on the side, and kopi to top it off. They are all done rather right, and as a fan of not-so-crispy toast I love their version.

My go-to food when I am in Japan and I don't know what to eat and they happen to be nearby. Thankfully the standard is quite maintained in their Singapore outpost/ franchise.

Till it is safe to travel again, this will have to do for now. The only place in Singapore, probably opened in Holland Village on purpose, that I know (reccos are welcome!) selling Bitterballen that is closer to what I had when I was in Amsterdam! It is fried to golden brown while maintaining the semi-liquid filling. Their pricing (also for the frites) is what you'll get for the same items in Amsterdam touristy area.

P.S. If you guys stock up Chocomel it will be a very welcomed addition 😜

I am usually not a fan of sweet, milky coffee but I give their Hokkaido milk exceptions anytime. Baristart's has been my go-to leisure coffee when I am in the area. I can't remember what was inside the cup, most probably flat white, but their coffee comes with a rather hefty price tag. Their dessert menu is definitely a must-try as well especially if you are into insta-worthy food presentation or anything Hokkaido milk.

My Habitat Coffee experience has been hit-and-miss, but this time around this is so so good even after traveling such a distance! The pancake is still thick, dense yet fluffy at the same time. The generous sweet toppings and the sauce and cream are given in just nice proportions. This would be enough to last me till the end of these travel restriction I guess. For delivery during this pandemic period there is a minimum order of S$30 and do contact them beforehand to confirm the delivery slot availability.

Oh I did not take picture of its cold brew, aptly named Liquid Gold, but it is golden! There is slightly more coffee than milk (the combi that I like), not sweet, and not burnt either (as I got a super bitter coffee during my previous visit there).

Does it live up to the hype? Yes. The truffle inside the fried pierogi dumplings is not too much and further highlights, totally not overpowers the dumpling fillings. It really goes well with the miso mushroom noodle - a rather basic, just nice flavored main that provides a solid base for the dumpling.

Among the places offering chocolate drinks nearby this is still my favorite - adequately thick with a dash of salt which gives it another dimension. It tastes just nice to be drank by itself and can also be slightly diluted with milk.
You can return the bottle (give it a thorough wash beforehand pls) if you feel so eco-unfriendly indulging in so many takeaway containers nowadays (no monetary incentives for that, saving the earth is the incentive) and they will sterilise and reuse it.

In frame: Sea Salt Chocolate [$7.4 walk-in, but I think $6.9 delivered with further discounts for bundles]. They are still delivering from their sister outlets, Curious Palette and Wakey Wakey.

Have been wanting to try out this place but it is almost always packed to the brim on weekends, so I am so happy when they offer delivery together with Fat Belly's offerings. Nicely done toast, coated with caramelised sugar just like a crème brûlée but not over the top hence it is not jelak and really enjoyable. They are generous on the toppings, which balance out the sugar-y feels of the toast. The cream is my highlight - liquidy, flavorful, and compliments the toast really well!

Did a bulk order sometime back (with a 4-for-3 mains promo), and I got myself the food I've been wanting to try: Osaka Fluffy Pancakes! The delivery comes with five thick green tea pancakes, three sauces, and a couple of strawberries, blueberries and seeds. The proportion of pancake to topping is not balanced, there are too many pancakes and very little toppings. After two pieces it felt very starchy and jelak, and it was not so fluffy despite the name. Their rice-based food items look fine, though.

The bottled matcha was very rough, not the smooth type that I enjoy.

A bagel packed with meat, even though I didn't find them flavorful and after a while this combi felt too much without any taste in particular. I realised I don't really fancy having the sunny side up (I much prefer their scrambled) and the mustard does not really pack a punch. Nonetheless the bagels are good as usual and the portion is so big! I will customise the next time I'm feeling adventurous, otherwise I will get my usual Hangover Helper. The food and place is Instagramable, and the staff are really friendly and professional. And the plain water is there to test your integrity - love this concept where people are encouraged to be less self-entitled and more considerate towards what they consume.
