MEATliquor's Dead Hippie is a darn good burger, juicy patty and all. But it also tastes uncannily like the Big Mac in terms of its flavours, from the cheese to the mustard to the pickles – but of course, with a keener execution. It's a heartier portion than Omakase's Ultimate Burger at just a teensy higher price tag ($22++ as opposed to $19.50+) but this lack of a memorable identity makes me that much less likely to crave it. Still, I'd be back to try other burgers. Just the burgers, because the sides and cocktails kinda just padded the bill with surprisingly pedestrian quality. (That said, an egg always helps. Re: Sambal fries.)

The stall starts selling them only at noon, yet when I arrived at 12.20pm yesterday, the fish heads were all accounted for. Had to turn up at 11.45am for this! The lady used to start selling this dish at 10.30am when the stall opens, but I suppose they've adjusted the timing to give the working crowd some fighting chance against the ah peks and ah mas. I really love the peppery and slightly vegetal quality of the soup here, but more importantly, the batang fish they use is meatier and cut thicker for more oomph than the usual toman. =D
PS. On the teh-o and calamansi-derived iced lemon tea side of things, I'm pleased to report that the grouchy drink stall auntie smiles at me and will comment "很久没有来hor?" if I miss a week. *beams*

The lor mee stall does a mean chicken chop that's reminiscent of the ones we used to have at Sunshine Plaza. I'm not fond of the bland mee sua-esque noodles, so imma just gonna order chicken chop ($3) next time. =D

It's not quite mind-blowing, but works surprisingly well, and it's a welcome twist to my usual coffees. I'm super fussy about my avocado milkshakes and this was spot on. Heh. It's a generous glass for just $8, and might even suffice as breakfast. Now that I've tried this, I think Vietnamese coffee might work even better than the espresso shots. Gotta persuade them to lemme have a go the next time!

I really wanted the chocolate-lined waffle cup latte, but that was already sold out. It's an off-menu rarity, since the waffle cups are hand-carried from the States. The cold brew is served in 5 shots – literally. I love the pun, but the presentation is really for the photogenic factor. Nonetheless, the coffees are smooth and the shop is beautiful. But mind you, it's a 3-seater coffee stand so don't expect to troop down with friends to chill.

Totally kicking myself for not coming by earlier. Coffees are pretty smooth too, and they've got booze and a decent selection of food. Bye bye Windowsill!

Fortune Food just nails it every time with their consistency – a good balance of sweet and spicy, and the all-important crunchiness from toasted peanuts and crispy dough bits. And what's the point of going to Chinatown at night if I don't get beer? Smith Street Taps was closed, but the cheap swigs at On Tap aren't shabby too.

The food here is even better than I remembered. Everyone on my IG feed seems to be feasting on Hokkien mee this week, so I've been craving my fave la la Hokkien mee the past couple of days. Heh. And while we're at it, we got the lard-heavy Penang char kway teow for good measure. X=

I was scared shitless that it'll be too milky, and it is indeed a little more milky than I'd like, but I made it through the whole cup. #achievementunlocked Heh. Of course, I had to order a Wicked to congratulate myself. X=

No jaunts to Boat Quay will ever be complete without a scoop! I'm still hoping they'll bring back the Goat Cheese flavour though. *crosses fins*
