I still remember when I was in the secondary school, my mom often brought me here because the army market is just located Upstair and they sell all the essential items for NPCC which is my CCA .
After which ,during my internship period for polytechnic, my intern was located really close by here so i often head over for lunch break.
There are actually many awesome food here such as the chicken rice, hokkien mee but i got to say one of my fav got to be the Ah balling gluttonous rice balls! The store have been there for quite sometime. They sell rice balls with many flavours such as green tea,red bean, peanut and sesame seed.
I love that the price is so reasonable (5 for $2) and the balls are so big, chewy and fully filled with fillings. Beware of the oozing of the fillings though! haha.
After wards the balls will then be served in either peanut or ginger soup. Peanut is more favourable for me as I feel that it's tasty but not too sweet.
Even though i have officially ended my intern but whenever I am nearby , i would try to make it a point to head down for it!
So head over and try it if you love 汤圆 . Btw it's at #01-75

The glutinous rice balls ($1.50 for four) at 75 Ah Balling Peanut Soup are handmade and stuffed generously with five types of fillings including the classic peanut, sesame and red bean. While the popular yam-filled balls are a must-try, so are the less commonly seen green tea rice balls. As for the ‘soup’ base, the peanut soup is well-loved, and rightly so, simmered for hours until the peanuts are ultra tender and the soup beyond flavourful. Alternatively, opt for the almond milk, sweet corn syrup or ginger soup. Pro Tip: Always pop the whole ball in and let the filling explode in your mouth!
Dessert! Peanut soup with tang yuan 😋 4 for $1.70 , 5 for $2. They have 5 flavors. Tried all of them and here's my rating -
1. PEANUT! ( it's rly crunchy)
2. Sesame ( not bad but the flavor can be btr).
3. Green tea ( flavor is there, but a bit too sweet for me . I guess tang yuan doesn't rly go with green tea?)
4. Red bean ( a bit too sweet too.. ).
5. Yam ( it's just tasteless so 🙅🏻)
Using the 22 Martin blend by Common Man Coffee Roasters, expect a cuppa that's of medium body with a nutty flavour for the Flat White here.
Not entirely sure this $15 bun platter is a 饱 maker... (not everybody here will get your Chinese pun - Pun Editor).
The sweet chilli involved is a grower not a shower in terms of firepower, whilst the few crab pieces that managed to squeeze onto the fried mantou carriage are nicely plump. Essentially what hipster foodie tourists should have for a minimalist, mod and smelly-finger free quintessential chilli crab experience. 3.8/5
.
P.S. Might this be a precedent for more accompaniments becoming mains and/or engulfing their parents? I hereby propose giant Ah Ballings with peanut soup inside in manner of Xiao Long Bao.
Just across the road from blk71, simple and good for a quick afternoon lunch 😋
It may not be famous, but it occupies a special place in my heart because I literally grew up eating it. Being just across the road from my primary and secondary school, Fairfield Methodist, my friends and I would often eat there after the dismissal bell rang. Having limited pocket money, a plate of $2 wanton mee was the best thing to us. To this day, I still eat it regularly and love everything about it — it carries a special handmade feel, nothing like the factory-made noodles and char siew or wanton you get elsewhere. Because we were still kids who couldn't take chilli so well, the aunty would substitute with tomato ketchup, or you could also order "see yao yao" (which I think means "want soy sauce") for something more plain that still hits the perfect level of tastiness. It's a pity that a grass patch is all that's left of the food centre we Fairsians grew up with, but I'm glad that a special part of it lives on not too far away. #Hawkerpedia
Pretty small space with 20 seating capacity, can't wait to slurp the broth clean! O-o-oishii!
#DontSayIBojio 300 bowls of ramen are going FREE TODAY! Choose between Miso or Shoyu base for your ramen! We preferred the Shoyu one which was more flavourful even though it could be a little salty. But the al dente noodles made up for it.

Simple and beautifully executed. Skimming that slab of melting butter into the crepe, drizzling fresh lemon juice from that fresh wedge of lemon.
The small sugar granules gave the crepe some crunch. Crepe was thin and doughy which it should be. Must try. Next up, Yuzu Butter Crepe.
For those who couldn't take spiciness, this will be the laksa for you. Instead of the tongue numbing spiciness, there was a soothing and heart warming broth with their special chilli paste. .

The owner blended dried shrimps, shallot and chilli to create this aromatic combination. Love every mouthful!!
