The cafe was filled to the brim with western expats. My korean colleague who loves cafe-hopping likes the food and atmosphere a lot. I had the common man veggie wonderland while he had the rather interesting Mediterranean/Arabic inspired dish (which name I forgot) Portion was just right for a brunch menu, I was not overly filled or hungry after eating. Price-wise on the high side but you get what you pay for, the ingredients were very fresh. To me the Star was the unforgettable hot chocolate which left my tummy very satisfied :)

Authentic tasting food by Chinese servers. Great tasting fried rice, chicken, vegetables and cheap Chinese booze. Portions were massive and everyone devoured everything. Friends from abroad were full of praises for the food.

Korean fried chicken. I was surprised by the portion which was tiny for the price we paid and felt that wingstop provided better value. Also the gravy was too thick and overpowered the chicken. Who can be a better critic of korean chicken than a true blue korean who came to dine with us? His facial expression and the fact that he ate only a few pieces said everything.

Beautifully designed but very weak chocolate flavour. Did not expect much as it was a last minute purchase. Will not buy again

Tiny and pricey but nicely designed cake. Expected a richer chocolate taste but it was really just “okay”, nothing much to shout about.

Fragrant but quite bland taste wise. Parents loved it though, mom said it reminded her of the cake her mom used to make. Perhaps it’s more appealing to the older folks.

From bakeinc Pasir Ris. Egg mayo was tasty but the ham pieces were so tiny.

As per recommendation by a korean colleague. Broth is salty as expected, portion of noodles is humongous, but amount of ingredients is quite tiny. Obviously the noodles and broth are the stars here. Noodles are to be dipped in broth before consumption. A very very filling meal.

The traditional kueh store across the street from my house from which my mom has bought many kuehs from since I was a child. It still sells nice kueh at very reasonable prices and today I continued the tradition by purchasing my favourite kueh at $2.2 for 5pcs. It was a delightful treat.

As I had absolutely enjoyed the hotdog bread from Bakery Brera & Fine Foods, I made a stop at the bakery again the same day to get some garlic bread. It was disappointing as the bread looked appealing but was really tough to chew on. I had problems taking bites from the bread which may work better with a side soup.

At any new bakery I visit I always order a hotdog bread. This is the best hotdog bread I have ever tasted. The bread was soft, fluffy and aromatic, and the hotdog was very fresh.

Ordered a 100 pc chicken feast. The wings were reasonably sized. The goods: Although garlic parmesan looked and smelt the least appetising, it was a surprising crowd favourite. The cheese did not overpower the garlic and the 2 ingredients complemented each other very well. The oriental soy pepper came in a close second. The chicken was liberally sprinkled with black pepper and was coated with unique blend of gravy that looked but did not feel heavy to the taste. The bads: General consensus was that Louisiana rub was too heavily salted. The original hot was a complete let-down - it tasted like red wine chicken and was cold and soggy!? No rewards for guessing which flavour had the most leftovers on the table.
