I remember that we used to dine here for after-exam holiday parties years ago... A re-visit years later, and I don't find the food nice anymore :/ (but it may be because I felt super full from the koi I had right before the meal). So this hotstone curry pork rice, and hotplate pork rice was totally dry and bland to me. I barely ate 30% of my curry pork rice and left the rest untouched. Cheese Baked Broccoli A pleasant surprise find from Kim Gary is their Cheese Baked Broccoli (S$7.20). It’s a simple stuff for sharing, made with blanched broccoli smothered in cheese and then baked in oven until the surface is slightly browned. It is good for sharing as an appetiser or side dish, but it would have been nice if the broccoli was cut into smaller pieces, and that they are drained properly before throwing in the cheese, because the base of the bowl actually had a small collection of excess water.

Green Tea Bingsu & Strawberry Bingsu 🍧 • All that hype for Caffé Bene made me have high expectations on my first visit. Was really excited to try their Bingsu... but was rather disappointed as I felt that the ice was coarser than I expected. 😕 . I also felt that there was too much red bean in both of the bingsus, the sweetness of the red bean overpowered everything. 😕Probably not the best place to have Bingsu 😅

The Laneway Market Loved the Sous Vide Egg with Hash and Crispy Soft Shell Crab Burger!

Sous Vide Eggs $14 Got lucky with my choice for brunch because service and food here is less than impressive. The eggs were closer to soft-boiled than I would have liked but made for a perfunctory sauce in service of the really tender and moreish 24 hour beer braised pulled pork and yummy crispy potato hash. Bonus points for real, crackly pork bacon and sweet marinated peppers. Taste: 3.5/5

Vongole Aglio Olio I really wanted to try this pasta and I think it fared surprisingly well! The clams we had were fresh, while the pasta sauce was savoury yet light on the palate AND infused into the pasta, unlike the previous pasta place that I recently posted about oops.

Truffle Fries Ok pardon the ugly pic but this was the true champ of the meal actually as we didn’t expect the fries to be so crisp yet potato-ey (in the sense that you could still taste the nice starchy potato, and not just air in the fries ykwim?). The truffle taste was also present in every fry and though the cheese shavings on top look pretty scant, it was adequate for that whole mountain of fries 👌💯 defo a must get.

Crabmeat Pasta This was my friend’s fav and if you can’t already tell from the pic, it was reallyyyy creamy and filled with crabmeat, without being overly surfeiting or thiccc. The tomato base was also slightly tangy and served to whet my appetite even more👅

Matcha & Salted Caramel Ice Cream On Waffle Matcha taste is strong n goes well with the hot fudge. Salted caramel is tasty as well

Ordered double scoop icecream w cone ($7) & we chose salted caramel and lychee rose. Both tasted quite weird (lychee rose is still acceptable but salted caramel tasted only like salt) Th service here sucks as well, th cashier thinks that making a call is more impt (whn th receiver didn't answer after million of times) & we had to wait for him for about 10mins for him to serve us (seems like he doesn't care abt our existence) 😑 👍🏻 2/5 ✖️Nope, not coming back anymore

Earl Grey Handmade icecream by the folks behind Group Therapy. It's been a while since I've been wowed by a store selling homemade icecream but this is pretty great if I may say so. If you're game do try their honey Bak Kwa - if they haven't already run out of it.

Ba Chor Dry Mee Pok A very professional bowl of bcm. All the ingredients hit the mark, with the meatballs especially unique. For unknown reasons, mine had no sauce, but that unexpectedly paraded how well executed the noodles were, not clumping up. To its detriment, though, the bcm here doesn't really have soul.

Fishball Noodle Their fishball noodle was not something impressive, but definitely a place to go for supper. They do have an air-conditioned room for you to enjoy your food. Price start from $4.50.

Mao Shan Wang [$19/Kg] . . Top grade Mao Shan Wang from Pahang, Malaysia. Sweet that comes with a little bitterness, definitely worth a try! Official opening is on 3rd July and durian ice cream will be available that day as well ! . Red Prawn ($12/kg) Season of the King of Fruits is here!! And a new store @ministry_of_durian has just opened providing Durian Lovers another place to drop by or call for delivery. With grand opening on 3 July 2016, they will launch dessert such as Mao Shan Wang (MSW) ice cream too. But till then we shall gorge on the durians. It's my first time trying Red Prawn and I can see why some prefer this over MSW. Slightly pinkish flesh that's slightly creamy but has a bittersweet taste!

Kaya Roll ($10) The cake is suuuper soft and dense, and the kaya is surprisingly blue instead of green :O I don't find the kaya taste to be all that strong tbh, it tasted more like an ambiguous sweet filling, but I still liked it nonetheless! I'd probably call it a pandan roll instead of a kaya roll. The filling is pretty substantial in relation to the cake! I tried the pandan roll from The Hainan Story a while back and the biggest difference would be the price. R&G's roll is REALLY LONG AND THICC 👅💦 while THS's is smaller and shorter oop I guess size does matter because this roll is a lot more affordable for its price. As for the taste, both are similar in terms of the softness and denseness of the cake. THS's kaya is more prominent, but for the price, R&G is the way to go. I can see why they have such long queues because $10 for this long and heavy roll is 👌👌 a very justifiable booty call, now I know to check it out next time! ⭐ Rating: 8.4/10 blue coconuts 🤑 worth the price: yeee 🦖 would I buy: I'd try the other flavours! 💍 would I marry: ye son
