The best seats in this venue are the pair of striped vintage chairs facing the cafe's glass frontage. As you indulge your caffeine craving, you are treated to a view of Bali Lane and the gamut of interesting folks who stroll by.

Finally had the chance to visit La Ristrettos which only opens in the day. Great hideout, and surprisingly has people working on their laptops and doing some quiet reading here.

This new kid on the Thomson block is a lovely new space that offers simplicity at its best. Sharing a space with Crust (which takes over after 5pm), One Man Coffee serves up superb brioche French toast and Toad in the Hole eggs with bacon jam that has everyone swooning. They also carry small pastry bites from Bakery Artisan Original (BAO). Photo by Alain Foodology

I like that the curry chicken chunk filling is boldly spiced, yet thoughtfully tempered with their refreshing homemade yogurt sauce. A well-balanced sandwich that is of course, complemented by their perfectly crafted coffees.

Highly recommended by Alvin, who hails this as one of the best Laksa in Singapore. Local delights. $2 classic.

If you love working off wooden crates and tables, this is the place for you. Quirky but cool. Rugged but welcoming. Friendly people, awesome culture. Welcome to The Bravery.

Two blends are available here; the Highlander Coffee blend or Sarnies blend. The latter was bold and strong, with a nice chocolate accent in it, while the Highlander one was described to be more fruity and acidic.

This might not look the prettiest dish on the block but believe me, it has one of the best flavours with its bed of soft mashed potatoes and chorizo, the runny poached eggs atop lent a wonderful joy to the dish.
