I had a mix of blue and pink macaron with hazelnut chocolate ice cream, topped with digestive biscuit crumbs. What a happy child I was when I got such a cute little delicious thing! Love the freedom of choice here! Pick your macaron shells color, ice cream flavour, and any toppings you like!
Hazelnut chocolate and coffee is one of their famous ice cream flavored. The ice cream wasn't too sweet, had more of a gelato smooth and creamy texture than usual other ice creams. I can say their ice creams are of quite a good quality, not sure if it's homemade.
However, don't deceived by my picture! The macaron ice cream is smaller than it looks. Almost like 2 1/2 inch in diameter or just like the size of the Texas Chicken biscuit.
Macarons shells were delicious and sweet. Beware of crumbs and mess when you bite into your ice cream, brain and teeth freeze right after!
My whole combination got a little too sweet when I was half way through. But nothing stops me from finishing something with ice cream. My love for ice cream is strong!
Food: 8/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 9.90 for the whole thing, additional charges if you want more than one topping and what not.) PS. Don't fret if you can't track them down. There's another permanent macaron ice cream store (but different name) at Nu Sentral too! The Cream and Fudge Factory.

In case you're wondering while looking at the menu, this is Huckleberry's big breakfast platter. Not the best nor the tastiest. I had my eggs poached and THANK GOD it was not served on top of the toast. Otherwise the bread will turn soggy. They were also poached perfectly.
There's nothing much on the platter. Kind of felt cheated. Just one or two miserable thin slices of bacon (beef or turkey I'm not sure), chicken sausage, two eggs any style of your choice, sautéed potatoes, homemade baked beans, and really juicy slightly grilled tomatoes. Lastly, two slices of sourdough toast.
So there was a lot of beans and potatoes so that made up the majority of the plate. Brand were very hard. Not really boiled down to a texture I like. Seasonings were a little under too. The beans could've been better.

Best was the tomatoes. I really loved how sweet and juicy it was. The eggs with toast and chicken sausage.
However, sourdough crust was incredibly hard. Like rock hard. Quite a challenge to my knife and fork to cut through and some jaw exercises.
Food: 6/10 Price: 5/10 (RM 28.90 - not a choice I would recommend. Unless they improve on it and have more satisfying portions of meat)

Arrived early at Huckleberry just for their breakfast menu. A very impromptu visit on a Friday but croissant cravings brought me here. Decided to give huckleberry another chance but this time with their breakfast menu.

I had their homemade granola parfait served with assorted fresh fruits like apples, bananas, watermelon, assorted nuts and seed, and some raw organic honey. They use fresh fruits that are in season and convenient. The mason jar makes everything look beautiful!
Definitely a delicious and healthy breakfast to start your day. I was basically full from all the fruits and delicious yogurt (farmers union). Their granola is baked with cold pressed coconut oil. Never really tried anything with coconut oil but I really love the granola! There was indeed quite little granola and an abundance of fruits mixed with yogurt.

Food: 8/10 Price: 7/10 (RM 17.90 - price is alright for this delicious mix and quality)

PS. Never leaving without having their delicious almond croissant!! I had two and took away one.

Grilled chicken with a rather sweet and spicy sauce. If the word "volcanic" scares you, not to worry because it was a forgivable level of spiciness.
There was a significant taste of spices that I don't really know but it was just like sambal chicken.
Tender and juicy grilled thighs, definitely a white meat pleaser. Served with a side of potato salad, and fresh salad. Initial choice was a side of fries but you can always opt for your preferred choice and the kitchen will definitely accommodate you.
Not much to shout about as its really an average chicken dish. My mother who ate with me was not impressed. Flavorful, but mediocre.

First of all, I would like to mention the excellent service Proof Cafe gives because I was at first given an incredibly horrible soggy bread under the poached eggs (a rookie mistake for restaurants to serve undrained poached eggs) but my first plate was willingly replaced with a new plate, of perfect crusty bread and runny egg yolk. Something different from other breakfasts, Proof offers sautéed spinach, something lighter than baked beans. I love their spinach and I wish I could have more!
And I just found out VCR serves spinach in their big breakfast too! Time to head there! 😍 Besides that, sautéed mushrooms were not as fragrant as the sautéed spinach, chicken ham and sausage is nothing special but of course, edible and satisfying.
It's hard to justify the pricing for big breakfast, or go wrong with cooking basic hams, sausages, grill half a tomato, sauté some mushrooms and serve eggs of any style to your liking with bread, to assemble as the classic English (unless you really can't step a foot in the kitchen). But based on my experience and preferences, I'm still a fan of Antipodean Bangsar breakfasts and Yellow Brick Road. I must try VCR's though.
Food: 6/10 Price: 6/10 (RM 23 - also a choice of complimentary black coffee and tea)
