A sweet scent wafts up as soon @dazzlingcafe.sg serves you Mermaid Toast ($16.90). Enveloping it's top are generous dollops of cream in pastel hues. Macarons and strawberries πŸ“ decorate it. Candies and colorful sprinkles freckle it 🌈 Drizzle honey over 🍯 and it's ready!
.
Eagerly, your knife dives into the Shibuya toast, cutting through its slightly crisp exterior. Its core hides strawberry ice-cream and blocks of colorful toast. Lace each bite of bread with whipped cream, ice-cream, and some candy. It combines both light and dense creaminess, small bits of crunch, and lightly toasted bread.
.
I'm no sweet tooth but I thoroughly enjoyed this. This limited edition dessert is extended till 16 Sep, so catch it with your friends before it swims away!!

@roostcafe Crispy Chicken Rice Balls ($4.90) usually sells out before dinner. Deep-fried bread crumbs encase a mashed rice and chicken stuffing that's flavoured with chicken stock. Its crunchy and light batter is a delightful contrast to its soft insides that aren't too dry. Dip these morsels into their house-made chilli sauce to highlight it with a spicy and sour tinge.

Salmon Mentai Don ($8.80) is a @donyasingapore signature. Watch them squeeze a generous amount of house-made mentaiko sauce over a slab of fried salmon. It crackles loudy as they torch it at the counter.
.
It's a bite into a firm salmon that has a meaty bite. It's sweet from mentaiko sauce, yet salty from its batter. The distinct grains of Japanese rice underneath carries some of its charred flavour. I'd love more of the donburi sauce that sweetens it. I'd pair this don with a side to add more depth in its flavour. More garnishing or donburi sauce would help too!

Chicken Sushi ($4.90) was the first time I ever heard of chicken rice sushi. A slice of Roost's signature soya sauce chicken rests on a neatly moulded base of chicken rice and garlic bits, glazed with teriyaki sauce. Pop one in and it tastes just like chicken rice. The garnish of fried ginger, shallots, and spring onions pleasantly lifts the flavour.

After all the creative snow skin mooncakes, the traditional Teochew moon cakes from Thye Moh Chan were much welcomed. From their collection of light and flaky pastries were some flavours which stood out to me πŸ˜‹

Mao Shan Wang Durian encases mung bean paste that has a fragrant durian infusion. Yam with SEY was a good combo, as the sey flavour easily cut through the yam. Yuan Yang with SEY surprised us with spicy pork floss, that was savoury, together with mung bean and sey filling.
.
It was a yummy afternoon treat!! Prices range from $29.80 to $40.80 per 4pc box.

The crispy Egg Onion Prata ($2) crackles as you tear it apart, releasing an alluring aroma of onion and egg. It's a thick bite of generous fillings, with buttery and warm prata that's chewy and fluffy. Served on the side are sambal chilli and curry. I personally love both, dabbing on chilli that's piquant with anchovies, and their flavourful curry.
.
An interesting prata on the menu is their Milky Gems ($2), which is a plain prata filled with condensed milk and M&Ms. Sounds like a sugar rush!

The strong scent of truffle wafts up from this Foie Gras Ricebowl ($9.90 lunch promo; U.P. $18) leaving you more than eager. Blushing pink slices of grilled U.S. beef are tender and chewy. The dressing sauce is French foie gras that tastes both sweet and savoury. Break the yolk, and release a yellow stream that turns into a delightful dip. It adds richness to your meat and moistens your mouthfuls of rice. A generous shaving of truffle envelops your mouth in its scent, while a piece of pickle lifts the overall flavour of the dish with a refreshing sweetness. It's a bowl I devoured unabashed.

Special Tonkotsu Pink Ramen ($15.80) πŸ’“ is one of the new ramen bowls at @ramenchampion_sg new Clarke Quay outlet. I sipped a spoonful and instantly loved it. Pretty in pink from beetroot and blueberries, the saltiness of the tonkotsu broth balances to a mildly sweet. Neither too cloying nor too light, it has just the right amount of tonkotsu flavour to satisfy.

Break open the ajitama egg, giving way to a semi-molten yolk. Your bowl of thin noodles and char siew are stained pink, having absorbed the flavours of the broth. Slurp up delicious noodles with a slice of lean meat, so soft and fragrant, and black fungus that adds crunch.

This Chicken Chop, seared till crispy, releases smoky char as you bite into gorgeously tender and succulent meat. My order was with White Sauce Pasta ($5.50) but I'll recommend you their cutlets or grilled meats. Steak, lamb, chicken, fish or salmon from $5-$7. Copious brown sauce underneath keeps your meat from quickly going soggy. With crinkle fries and coleslaw, it’s simply satisfying and filling.

My favourite @discoverthedark is this Frozen S’more ($7.50). Ready your phones for an IG story; The Dark Gallery torches it upon order.

Ensconced within the thick layer of melted goo is a block of 80% dark chocolate ice-cream. Piercing in, your fork merges the warm marshmallow with the cold core that has a light coat of graham cracker crumbs. Bite into sticky, sweet satisfaction, tasting delightful cookie flavour and crunch.

From @projectwarung lineup of halal gourmet burgers, this is The Classic ($4.50).

Two slightly dense wholemeal buns sandwich a beef patty and American cheese. If you've tried a Prime Beef from Two Blur Guys, the taste of this reminds me of that. Their brioche buns are toasted to a light crisp with the Burgs logo seared on. Between, rests a thick patty, beefy and decently succulent though unevenly done. Its sides were medium-well while the centre is medium done. Using chilled Australian beef they grind themselves, seasoned with salt and pepper, they preserve its meaty bite. While the flavours of caramelized onions and pickled green chilli remind you of a McD Cheeseburger, this πŸ” is larger.
.
To round off your meal, you could upgrade ($1.50) the 🍟 plain fries that come with. Their Okonomi fries are slapped on with with sweet okonomi sauce and savoury housemade mayo, then dressed with crispy bonito flakes and spring onions. It's most toothsome to me β—‘Μˆ

Spaghetti with Battered Chicken and Laksa Sauce ($9.90) is a @griddysg fusion dish. Flavoured with less spices, it less like your usual laksa sauce. Instead, it's slightly sweet and spicy. Freckled with curry leaves, the creamy has stronger notes of coconut. Battered chicken is a breaded crisp that breaks open to tender, succulent meat. Laksa sauce on it is what makes it the highlight to savour.
