In Chinatown Point, the aka carte Laksa are priced at regular $5.50 & large $7.50. We couldn’t resist our temptation so we had to order the large bowl😬. Noodles were cut shorter so no chopsticks were needed, there’s beansprouts, fish cakes, prawns and cockles! Laksa gravy were super fragrant with coconut taste, light and not too thick and jelak! Goes super well with their sambal chilli sauce too, it’s not too spicy and taste is just right! Super duper shiok and comforting! One of our to-go Laksa place whenever we have cravings! ⠀

It’s been a super long time since we last visited them! After so long and been to so many places, this is still our favourite Italian restaurant serving one of the yummiest pasta! The kind where everything is so good and delicious, perfect texture pasta, pasta base is fantastic with generous servings of ingredients! They have many different pasta base to choose from, many different types of ingredients and you can even choose your spicy level (mild, normal, spicy, extra spicy) too! We usually goes for the normal spicy and it’s already rather spicy, where u can feel the spiciness on tongue 👅. The default pasta noodles is spaghetti but you could also tell them to change to linguine if you prefer. Of course, from the restaurant name, you would be able to guess that their signature pasta base is Aglio Olio. Beside that, we are also super in love with their cream base pasta as the cream is not too thick and creamy, not too jelak comparing to many cream pasta out there! As a cream base fan myself, it’s really not easy to find slurpping shiok cream pasta and this really got me so hooked to it! All pasta lovers are highly recommended to try out this place! ⠀

My Oh My! Fried intestines is our MUST ORDER whenever we are back at 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐢 𝐊𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩! It’s a very unique dish and I think this could be the only one if not, the only few stalls that sells them. It comes in different pricing from $12, $18, $24 & $30 depending on how many pax you have. These intestine were clean super thoroughly before sending them to deep fried 💯 perfection. There’s totally no odd taste and smell in them. Super duper crispy crunch on the outside and juicy inside. Highly recommended for all intestine lovers, a different taste & feel from the usual braised style. ⠀

Of course we had to try their Signature - Menbaka Original Shoyu Fire Ramen! I must say, although we aren’t a shoyu ramen fan, we really find this amazing delicious and taste better than the Tonkotsu Fire Ramen. We highly recommend this Shoyu Fire Ramen as the chicken based broth is more flavourful with blends of Bonito & Mackerel flakes. Menbaka uses custom-made ramen with the perfect texture and it totally soaking the broth. Each bowl comes with 2 slices of chashu and a mountain servings of freshly cut springs onions that added more flavours to it!⠀

They are easily spotted with a long queue but the queue moves pretty fast, and we highly recommend you to drop by before 12pm to avoid disappointment. Roast Pork Rice is definitely our favourite meat! Roast Pork skin is roasted till superb crispy and crunchy, meat is a lil towards fatty but yet not too oily for our liking, pretty well-ratio! It also goes well when dip into their not too spicy chilli sauce.⠀

In the recent months, there’s a newly opened fried Hokkien Mee stall in Golden Mile Food Centre. Highly recommended by a lot of food bloggers, we decided to drop by to try too! Located at level 1, 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐅𝐔 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐎𝐊𝐊𝐈𝐄𝐍 𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐖𝐍 𝐍𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐋𝐄𝐒 is cooked by a very young guy, Andre, 21 years old. Despite his young age, he has been helping out at his father stall in Toa Payoh when he was in sec sch days, so he’s very skilful! ⠀

You won’t miss the stall as there’s a long snaking q right in front of it. His Hokkien mee style is the dry kind with different pricing to choose from, $4, $5, $6 or $8 and you can even choose if you want thick or thin vermicelli! We ordered the thin vermicelli and $6 portion for takeaway. I must say, we are truly amazed at its fragrant aroma once we open the packet. Thin vermicelli and yellow noodles had fully soaked up the savoury prawn broth, and it fried with a good wok-hei taste to it! Each plate also comes with generous servings of fresh prawns, squid and pork belly and their sambal chilli goes so well with it too! We were super impressed by his delicious and mouth-watering plate of fried Hokkien mee! Do drop by these few days before they are closed for 3 months renovation starting next Tue, 1 Dec, you would love it! ⠀
