New Lucky Claypot Rice.
I ordered a chicken claypot rice meant for two person to share and a bowl of lotus soup.
The chicken was cooked well as it was tender and juicy. However, I wished it had a higher meat to fats ratio as there were barely any meat on some of the pieces of chicken, with it mostly comprising of bone and skin.
Rice tastes very delicate and fragrant after mixing and letting it absorb the dark sauce and oil provided. However, the rice only had the nice, smokey flavour of the claypot near the bottom and seemed to lack the rugged feel of a regular claypot rice. Maybe I didn’t stir the rice evenly enough. 🤔
The lotus soup was pretty basic. It had lotus, several chunks of pork and some peanuts in it. The soup acted as a nice complement to the claypot rice as it had a clean taste that can wash off some of the greasiness of the rice.
Overall, a solid bowl of claypot rice and soup and portion given was decent for its price. Have you tried it? What do you think?
