It used to be a hidden gem at PJ Palms Sports Center. After their signatures pancakes and nice interior design was blogged through social media, the cafe is quite discoverable and always full after awhile. To those who never been there before, it's actually take 5-8 minutes away from Taman Jaya LRT station. Was decided to pay them a visit after they had their renovation. They expanded their shop and made the outdoor space to indoor so the customers can enjoy air con with natural lighting. Food in frame: Jam & Kaya's Pancake Signature (RM16) which stack with jam and kaya, fresh berries and Vanilla ice cream. Was a little bit of disappointed when tasted the ice cream is kinda from Nestle. But was glad that the strawberries are sweet. Coffee: Cappucino (RM9.60). It is still good as it used to be. They had increased all the prices of the food compare with my last visit.
Miru had opened for quite some time but still the hype is there, especially when they opened their second outlet at Pavilion. Was thought the outlet at Damansara Uptown will be less crowded but apparently the shop is still full of crowd, especially after dinner time. Food in frame: Shibuya Honey Toast (RM16), an original Shibuya Honey Toast topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Plus it is coated with a thin layer of butter sugar on top, which actually enhance the flavor of the toast. I don't think there is any negative comment on the dessert since it is really delicious. However, regarding with the portion wise, it is better to share at least two people for a toast. And also they serve the free flow of jasmine tea for every customers. It would be good if the table is not that sticky.
A hidden gem that opened for quite some time but never had chance to pay a visit. The cafe is located in Pusat Kreatif Kanak-Kanak Tuanku Bainun in TTDI. It has a very comfortable and cozy environment and instagrammer friendly whereby it always fills with natural lighting. Was meant to try their toast but was told that the toast is serve from time to time. And during my visit the toast is discontinued at the moment. Food in frame: Earl Grey Waffle, a light and crunchy waffle infused with aromatic earl grey and topped with earl grey ice cream. Normally they serve with one scope of ice cream on the waffle. We also ordered Lychee Rose pot tea, a unique combination but it's not weird at all. Worth to try this if you prefer tea rather than coffee. Their operation hours are from 9am to 7pm. Close on every Tuesday and every first Monday of the month (Operation hours copied from Aether Cafe's Instagram). Parking shouldn't be a big problem since there are quite plenty of parking lots around the building.
Although it opened for quite some time but still it always full with people. Was totally full during my visit and I think it's should be a wise choice to sit outside rather than inside since it will be more crowded in a closed space. Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng (RM10.50) served with the classic combination of coconut rice, sambal, anchovy, cucumber, egg and fried chicken leg. I think the price is acceptable as the chicken leg is huge and delicious. Just wish that their sambal could serve more. Just FYI, add on extra sambal will be charged for RM0.80. Moreover, their Teh Tarik is just nice to drink. Not too milky and over sweet. Still, get ready to queue if you pay a visit during lunch hour.
The shop is a modern tea bar that opened to serve various number of teas and softserve. It just located next door to Three Little Birds Coffee at D7 Sentul. Was ordered a pot of Uji Jubuzan (a subtly floral hojicha) and it is very delicious based on my own preference. It's definitely a good choice to go for tea during such rainy days. Besides, they also serve two flavours of soft-serve ice cream. Soft-serve ice cream in frame: Seniman Kakao's 70% Papua New Guinea dark chocolate. And the other using Panama Kotowa Mandarina Geisha, one of the most highly sought after coffee beans in the world. For me, I would prefer coffee flavour compare with chocolates flavour, as their dark chocolate taste sourish. The place is quiet and less people, probably is because people can't get food from here but able to get it from Three Little Birds which is just same row with it.
The shop is located same row with Restoran Hau Kee (Cheras people would know). A Chinese restaurant that serving Chee Cheong Fun and red bean soup in Taman Yulek, Cheras. They are famous with curry Chee Cheong Fun, which is not like those typical Chee Cheong Fun with black sauce. Quite numbers of choices for you to mix with the rice roll and they charge RM0.85 per pcs. Kinda expensive for me if compare to Chee Cheong Fun I had. Their steamed rice rolls are a little bit of thick to me based on my preference, but the curry is nice. Moreover, they also serve red bean soup and green bean soup (RM2.10) which is nice to me. The taste would be nicer if they are willing to add on dried tangerine peel (ChenPi) into the red bean soup. Other than that, they also serving some herbal tea like Loh Hon Gor (RM1.90) which is a lil bit sweet for me, but it's definitely a good choice during hot weather. The environment is clean as they covered the floors and walls with white tiles. However, the neighborhood is having difficulties of finding parking as the shop is nearby with the market.
They claimed themselves as Korea's No. 1 BBQ restaurant which having more than 500 BBQ restaurant worldwide with more than 430 outlets in Korea. The first outlet was at ground floor, SS15 Courtyard, and their second outlet is located at level three in The Gardens Mall. To be specific, their shop is just located next to Sushi Zanmai and in front of Moo Cow. Food in frame: Ultimate Set D (RM128) BBQ set that meant for 2-4 pax, which included 200g of Pork Skirt Meat (Spicy), 200g of Pork Belly, 200g of Marinated Pork Collar, a piece of Marinated Pork Skin, Mixed Grilled Platter, Army Stew, Side Dishes and Signature Kimchi Egg Crust. The portion of food is quite generous. Love the taste of pork skirt meat. Although it labeled with the spicy sign on the menu, however the spicy level is still able to handle. Not a fans of army stew due to the common korean restaurant in kl usually served with much spicier as I thought but this one is acceptable. On the side note, do remember to finish the cheese to avoid over cooked and become texture like eggs. Other than that, we also ordered Volcano Fried Rice (add ons RM25) which is really tasty, especially the eggs that surrounds around the fried rice. And also, they are serving delicious makgeolli (rice wine), soju (contain alcohol) and various of drinks. Visited on Sunday and its full house from 1pm-2pm. If you prefer less crowded dining experience, weekdays might be a wise choice.
Before Ah Weng Koh relocated to ICC Pudu, it is one of the hundreds of food vendors in Imbi Market. Comparing with the old spot, ICC Pudu is no doubt cleaner and more comfortable. However, the place is still crowded and can't enjoy a peaceful breakfast. Ah Weng Koh's Hainanese coffee (RM2.40) have better taste with ice in my own preference. The signature kaya butter toast (available in buns too) (RM2.40) not really that special but somehow it is making me nostalgic, and also a pair of half boiled eggs (RM2.20), definitely a classic breakfast set for Chinese like me. Wantan mee that order from Sam Kee(Ah Joe) Wantan Mee stall is nice either. Especially their soup. Other than that, the Sisters Crispy Popiah that located just next to wantan mee is scrumptious either. Definitely a nice place to hunt for local food.
The shop is located just 5 minutes away from Pudu LRT station. It always full of people since it is a small glass house beside the busy stretch of Jalan Pudu. They always emphasize that they are not coffee shop but a place that serve delicious breakfast and juices, but still, they are serving coffee as well. Ordered hot green tea latte (RM6.90) (RM8.90 for iced) and it is good. They are famous with toast but ordered something else in their menu. Aglio Olio and Breakfast Potato Salad taste nice either. Will be back for their toast soon.
The worst cafehop experience I ever had in this shop. In frame: Aglio Olio Classic (Meat-free)(RM9.90) and Laboratory Coffee (RM18.90). Nothing much to talk about aglio olio, normal pasta, a bit oily. Laboratory coffee is not my kind of coffee, too sweet though it can be customize based on our own preference. The cafe is kinda dark, not really instagrammer friendly. However, the service staff is not friendly and place our order wrongly. Kinda disappointing with the cafe.
Dishes in frame (from top to below): Grand Caeser (RM17.90), Chicken Roulade (Special Menu), Crispy Skin Seared Salmon (RM19), Wild Mushroom Soups (RM12.90), and coffee (From top to below) Hazelnut Latte (RM10.50) and Cafe Mocha (RM10.50). The food overall is good. Especially the mushroom soup. Do remember to finish it before it get cold. Coffee still got room to improve. However, the price might slightly higher compare with normal cafes. The shop is just next to Serdang Ktm station. It took like 10 minute to reach from the station. Not familiar with that area, but still the area is occupied with cars. Although the service crews are foreigners, but they are friendly and helpful.
Wild Sheep Chase is a dessert shop famous with their soufflé. But other than that, their drinks are tasty either. Queen Juliana (RM14), made with sparkling water, lemon, mint and raspberry. Kinda pricey, but it is refreshing, a good choice during a hot afternoon. Been visiting to this shop for three times, quiet yet peaceful.
