Schweinshaxe (AUD 48.50). Signature giant crispy skin pork knackle served with sauerkraut, rhine potatoes and pork jus. The crispy skin is the star of the show. Dipping them into mustard adds a litte sourness to the bite which cuts through the greasiness of the fats. Sauerkraut (german pickled cabbage) is too satly for my liking, while the potatoes are cooked just soft enough, very buttery.
Falafel with guinoa tabouli, greens, pickled turnips, garlic hummus, and roti (AUD 17)
Buttemilk pancake with berries, mascarpone and syrup (AUD16)
I really LOVE the falafel dish! Perfectly fried falafel with jist the right amount of seasoning, the hummus has a lemony taste which is quite refreshing, while the salad and pickled turnips cut down the greasiness of the dish. The pancake is soft and fluffy, super huge serving, but nothing much to shout out about.
The signature salted egg yolk butter crab (RM168 for 2 XXL size crab) is packed full of flavour, such a guilty pleasure. Dipping some deep fried man tou into the salty and creamy sauce is the best thing ever. Another highlight is their lala soup (RM28). The soup is very refreshing, gingery and slightly spicy from the peppers, you can really taste the freshness of seafood from the stock.
They have offer a variety of dishes on their menu but you can also choose your own ingredient at the bar and they cook it for you. They have different level of spiciness to suit different people's preferences, from non spicy like garlic, to super spicy. The one I had was little spicy and it is already pretty spicy (i have a pretty good tolerance on spicy food). Besides, they also offered sauces like salted egg yolk and fermented beancurd. They are on a pricey side but overall is deicious and good for big group of friends and family.
If you are a melt in your mouth char siew kind of person, this place is a must! (RM8.50) Super fragrant oily rice cooked perfectly which the rice is not too soft or too hard, their perfectly cooked bbq char siew has just the right ratio of fats and meat, slightly sweet, very savoury. Their roasted chicken is a little let down as the meat is on the hard and dry side, but overall i would say its a decent meal.
Cheese based wood oven pizza topped with caramelised onion, cherry tomatoes and prosciutto (AUD 28). The pizza crust itself is soft at the bottom but not soggy, and crusty at the side. The ingredients paired perfectly well together, freshness from the toms and saltiness from the prosciutto, what can go wrong?
Refreshing, healthy bowl of goodness (AUD 16), the smoothie is made of acai, banana and coconut milk, topped with granola, more fruits and coconut. It is unexpectedly delicious and not too sweet, perfect brunch spot with friends and family!
Dry chilli pan mee (RM9.50) is pretty legit. Good amount of ingredients such as anchovies, minced pork, fried shallot and half boiled egg that added into the dish which blend perfectly with their fresh handmade noodle, feel free to challenge yourself with their belacan chilli. I prefer 3 scoops of chilli but if I am feeling spicy, I could add up to 6 scoops. Their lu rou fan (braised pork rice) is pretty good too btw, smaller serving size but just nice for a quick lunch.
This is one of their best seller (RM12.90 + RM1.50 pin ball). A lot of my friends have recommended this for me to try and finally I did and it was not dissapointing at all. Even though it is on the pricey side, but I can really taste the freshness of the berries with just nice amount of sweetness to the drink. There's also bits of strawberry and blueberries in the drink which you can chew on it while drinking. Definitely recommend this if you are not sure what to try in Pin Tea.
The very famous char siew fried rice in SS15 (RM7.50). There's nothing much to shout out for a simple plate of fried rice, I heard it was not as good as how it used to be anymore. A little on the drier side, but their belancan chilli is sooooo good and go perfectly well with the rice i really enjoyed it.
The nobly tea (RM12.90) is basically a lychee smoothie with bits of lychee meat and coconut jelly. The used natural ingredient to create the beautiful and insta worthy pink hue in this drink. I would say the drink is pretty ordinary other than it looks pretty.
For a vegetarian meal, this is definitely my go to. The curry mee hoon (RM6) has loads of ingredients added such as fried mushroom, vegetarian char siew and roast duck. Their broth is really thick and flavourful you cant tell it has no meat in it. They usually sold out around 12pm, so do come by and enjoy it as early as possible.
