It doesn't taste like meat and it is just a great veggie burger on its own. The good thing about veggie burgers is that you wouldn't feel guilty or bloated eating it but I still prefer meat in my burger ๐ ๐
Hidden joint at Tanjong Katong Road. Great pastas and pizzas. I recommend choosing their signautures. We also had the squid ink pasta which was ๐๐๐
Always love the cakes here!! And very value for money with Burpple Beyond. My favourite cake is the Sesame one!!
We tried a variety of dishes namely calarami, chicken pop, cabonara, salmon and also the famous lobster roll. Only the oysters were truly delicious while the the rest of the food were so so
My friend and I shared the carbonara omurice and medium-sized beef don bowl! Portions were quite big. I really liked the omurice as the sauce is so addictive and the egg is well done meaning sufficiently runny and cooked. The beef slices for the don bowl were very tender and flavorful but probably not my style as I prefer hot grilled beef rather than slow-cooked lukewarm style.
My favourite place to bring my friends for lunch when they are visiting my house. It is kind of my secret food spot to impress other people! The must orders are ๆฐด็ ฎ้ฑผ, ่พฃๅญ้ธก and ้บปๅฉ่ฑ่ ! One tip when ordering the ๆฐด็ ฎ้ฑผ is to add ingredients such as noodles, lotus roots, potatoes and whatever you like. I would say that their spicy dishes are much better than their non-spicy ones.
My friend and I shared the Fried Chicken and Cheesy Beef Steak sandwiches (SGD16 each). The portions are big and I ate the chicken half first and left the beef one for teatime. The fried chicken patty was pretty good but as a whole sandwich it was bit dry. The combination of beef, cheese and onion was quite nice but pretty standard and not saucy enough for me. Service was good though and we managed to use the Burpple discount for a weekday lunch!
My family ate less for our main lunch to save space for desserts ๐๐ We had waffle with 2 scoops of ice cream (Pistachio and Apple Sourcream)- SGD13 and Affogato with Vanilla Cookies and Cream- SGD7. Though the ice cream is of good quality, I found the ice cream flavours to be pretty average. My siblings and I had a hard time deciding on what flavours to choose for our waffles because we didn't particularly like any that much. Lo and behold, the waffles with maple syrup turned out to be really great though! Too bad it was a pretty small piece of waffles with way too much ice cream actually. The Affogato definitely deserves a mention and credits though! Normally cafes serve Affogato with just espresso and one scoop of store bought vanilla ice cream. For this, you can choose any one scoop of ice cream and it comes with whipped cream as well as some salty nibbles. The bitter coffee and sweet ice cream complemented each other really well and tasted heavenly together ๐๐ Though the coffee could have been stronger and more bitter.
My family of 5 ordered 2 Boiler's Duo Bag (1 Garlic Butter and 1 The Works - Medium) instead of the Bombdiggity Bag as we didn't feel like having crabs. Seafood was fresh enough and the sauces tasted well too but nothing really spectacular. It could be a personal preference because my parents loved the sauces. Also having 2 different sauces turned out to be a really good thing as eating only one particular sauce could get gelat after a while. It could be just me but I felt that some food tasted nicer in Garlic Butter like lala, sausages and corn while others tasted better in The Works like mussels, mantou and prawn. There is definitely a need to order more mantous which we did to soak up the good sauce and I felt more could be given per bag instead of just 2. Service was pretty good too as the waiters made sure our cups were always filled. Total bill came up to SGD130.
Ordered the Fried Calamari and Zucchini (SGD15.9) and Parma Pizza (SGD27). Both were very average so the food is not worth it in my opinion. Going there for drinks during happy hour is pretty worth it though as there are 12.90 cocktails and 1 for 1 draft beers.
My family ordered the steamed squid, signature beancurd, mee goreng, lala beehoon and bamboo clams. Total bill came up to SGD130 for 5 of us. Bamboo clams were overcooked and bland. Mee goreng was too sweet for my liking. Baby squids were fresh but the sauce seemed to be just cooked in regular soya sauce. Signature beancurd was quite ok but just average restaurant standard. The nicest dish was the Lala Beehoon where the soup was milky rich with a good peppery kick and Lala were also pretty fresh!
Many food stalls at Timbre+ but this deep dish pizza caught my attention and calories. There are a whole lot of ingredients in the Fat Samurai (SGD9) like duck confit and bacon but honestly you can't really taste the individual ingredients. As a whole, the combination is still pretty good and I think it is a decent food option at Timbre+.
