The sauce for this fish was excellent, some lobster bisque concoction. But shame the fish itself was dry.
The staff here went to paggro us for using an entertainer deal lol. That aside, food is decent. This duck confit was good and tender. But portion size was on the smaller side.
This is the grilled beef ribeye with black pepper sauce ($28). Cut of meat was excellent but sauce overwhelmed the flavours of the beef. Not saying that it was a bad sauce but it’s a shame because such a premium cut of meat should be allowed to shine by itself.
Ordered the Beef Cheeks Bourguignon ($28), cheeks were fork-tender, mash was extremely creamy and accompanying vegetables were 👌🏻 I especially liked the onion haha
Tried out the roast meat at Ho-Bee Roasted Food, which is located at 628 AMK. Have heard good reviews about it but the food here exceeded my expeditions by a mile. Got the set which comes with roast duck and sio bak. Roast duck was insane r tender and juicy with an excellent fat to meat ratio. Roast meat was also really good with a nice crackling skin. Food also comes with a side of achar which I really liked. I queued a solid 20 mins for this during off peak hours and I’d queue again.
I’ve been having omnivore for years since my bf started working at Raffles Place and I can never get over the food here. For one, portion sizes are MASSIVE and very value for money. The ingredients are so so fresh and I’ve not had one option that disappointed me. Protein-wise I love their duck and chicken thigh. Sauces are on point too, get the pesto and honey mustard. Sometimes I wish I worked at the CBD area so I can have this more often.
Finally trying the food here out. Didn’t expect much because I’ve never had good experiences with Thai food from Hawker centres. So I was pretty shook by this phad thai. It’s better than some of the restaurant in sg (and I dare say some places in Thailand even). I’d crave this.
They’re a new entrant for the 2021 Michelin Bib Gourmand so I was curious to see if it lived up to its award and damn right it did. For one, the portion sizes here are MASSIVE. My porridge was spilling over when I carried it back to the table. Porridge is also on the grainier side which I quite liked. It was also packed with ingredients. Got their poached chicken on the side too and this was Uber tender and juicy too. The place is pretty ulu but I’d go back for it.
Ordered this in to office and food looked good but 2 slices had a overly fishy smell which was a little weird because I’m pretty sure all the slices were from the same fish. Also, my colleague found a bone in one of the dish. Pretty disappointing, expected more from DDD.
I kid you not lol. I did takeaway for this for my family and ordered 2 packs of briyani and it felt like 6kg worth of food, as heavy as my cat. When we came home and opened the package we got shock because the rice was OVERFLOWING. We ended up keeping one pack of rice and sharing the rest amongst 4 people and it still was too much. I’m impressed. Meats and other dishes were super good and very spicy. 10/10 coming back here it’s beyond value for money
Dk what took me so long to discover Haakon. I am OBSESSED with their soba bowls and love how there is so much variety. Previously got the salmon bowl and this time around, I got the steak one. Steak was not the best but still decent and was cooked to a medium. Love the addition of wakame and oyster mushrooms which added a nice crunch to the dish. I want to try their other rice bowls but i like their soba too much LOL
I really like the food at eleven strands, nothing fancy, but just solid, hearty cafe food. I’ve had their Wagyu beef burger twice, once at during lockdown and once irl. Both times I was satisfied! Wagyu is done medium rare and was uber juicy a d tender. Truffle taste was mild but I prefer it that way.
