First time trying this out and it was absolutely delicious. Didn’t have to queue here on a rainy Sunday night at 8pm. Prawns were huge, service was prompt and the wok hei was on point.
The only downside, if any, is the price tag of $20 for a one pax portion of hor fun.
Got this Gyudon during lunch for $18++
The beef tasted as good as the steak, but with a hint of sweetness that comes from the gyudon sauce. The bowl was filling enough even without the extra foie gras or scallop that it would come with during dinner.
Lunch service was super fast and we were in and out within an hour.
Made a reservation for the feather blade for Saturday lunch. The restaurant was almost a full house with only 2 empty side tables.
The steak was savoury and done to a nice medium rare and makes a very enjoyable meal. However since this is an alternate cut from the shoulder of the cow there are no fats in the meat and requires a bit of chew to it. Potatoes on the side was delicious as well.
Lamb Shank slow braised in “Pong teh” - fermented bean paste style sauce. Tender, delicious, and oh so full of meat.
This dish is delicious, and the portion is also very big, an absolutely worthwhile dish for its price, especially with Burpple beyond. A must order if you are a fan of lamb.
Beef tenderloin coated with a special pangium nut paste and mushroom duxelle. Wrapped in egg crepe, puff pastry and oven roasted till a delicious medium rare.
The beef Wellington was generally good, but it seems to be over-cooked to medium well as there was barely any pink in the centre. Can taste the mushroom between the beef and pastry skin and that gave me a surprise in a good way.
The restaurant staff were attentive and friendly. However, waiting times can be improved as we waited very long for our dishes to be served after ordering (~30mins). Perhaps the waiter can pre-empt us that certain dishes will take longer to be prepared.
Came across this ramen place as the other restaurant that we wanted to go to was full and we were hungry. The ramen was nice but did not manage to impress.
There were not many customers so it was a nice and quiet place to catch up with friends and have a good chat.
The Mapo is delicious but might be a bit tad spicy for people who can’t take spiciness like me. I bought the deal during Chope Birthday sale for their signature set at $9.90 and went on a Saturday night. Do note that they close at 8pm on sat so head down earlier.
The place is right at one corner of downtown gallery, so it might take a while for you to find the restaurant. We ordered the Mapo signature set as well as the Dandanmian set. Both taste good, but I ended up eating more of the dandanmian because it was not spicy.
Will return again because the Mapo is really good!
Sour Cream Ice Cream, Kaffir Lime Foam & Zest
If there is only one thing you can order from the menu, order this. It wow-ed all of us at the table and we unanimously agreed that this is the best creme brûlée that we ever had. The sour tinge from the ice cream perfectly complemented the sweetness of the creme brûlée and the sea coconut was a pleasant surprise which unexpectedly went well with the whole dessert.

Yellow Dhai & Chickpea Masala, Apple Cucumber Raita, Cumin Mustard Jus
Chicken leg was tender and delightful, but it could do with a bit more marination. Filling main.

Grilled “Bak Kwa” Style, Fermented Cabbage, Potato Mousslin, Caramel Vinegar
Came here on a Sunday night with Chope reservations. The restaurant was around half full. Excellent service and everything was perfect. I came in a group of 4 and we tried almost everything on the menu. This is the best out of the 3 mains that we tried but it might not be that filling for a big eater.

It’s my first time here, but I’ll definitely be back for the delicious dim sum! Last order here is 2.30pm so don’t come too late.

I went here on a public holiday night and was surprised to see the restaurant only a quarter filled given how popular their sister restaurant, Ninja Bowl, is. The beef cheeks were well braised and flavour was quite on point. Honestly I felt super healthy just by looking at this! Nevertheless, I’m not a big eater and could not finish everything with Ninja rice top up.
Service was a little lacking as there was only one waiter and he had to literally multitask between making drinks, serving food, and cleaning up.
