Tried this dish for the first time and was blown away. For the price paid, there is a generous heap of fish and rice noodles to go along. Fish itself was a yummy flavor bomb of fatty, slightly tangy and charred goodness. Super well done. Would definitely come back just for this.
Had the burpple set ($25 for 2 dons). Both dons are reasonably generous with salmon (8-9 slices). Mentai don was yummy, nicely torched with rich mentai sauce.
Salmon Ikura don was disappointing, the rice was warm which was a bit weird when contrasted with the cold salmon. Some salmon pieces also had the silver skin not cleanly sliced off. Order their salmon mentai and wagyu don instead as raw food doesn't seem like their strong suit.
This tastes very authentic-ly Taiwanese. The milk tea is frothy and thicc, and the pearls are just the right softness and sweetness. Thank you for providing the North east our bbt fix during circuit breaker. :) They have recently allowed customization of sugar level which is a nice touch for the health-conscious.
Food is great too, especially the lu rou fan. Location is a bit out of the way but just hop on a bus from serangoon nex, its worth it!! Hope they keep growing and being awesome.
Ambiance is so laid back and relaxed, waffles are nicely done with a huge scoop of ice cream and a macaroon. There are many more interesting flavors that you can try.
Food and coffee is great too. Pricing is quite standard for the area, about $5 for a latte, $15 for a main. Definitely one of the more quaint spots on the Upper Thomson area, not overflowing with crowds.
This is SO GOOD. It is on the crisper side, because the uncle takes time to fry each batch fresh and crisp even with the long long queues. Got about 6-7 oysters for this $6 size.
Go before 6.30pm on weekends if you don't want to be queueing for 30 mins or more.
So smooth, creamy and fresh. Don't usually go for oysters as it's pricey but dayum this was worth it. Had to restrain myself from ordering more.
Tucked away on the 2nd floor of MyVillage in Serangoon Gardens lies this gem.
They do tonkotsu so well!! The batter is crispy and the pork is easy to chew and not sinewy. Rice and cabbage are free flow. Appetisers like Tori Kawa (chicken skin $4.50) and agedashi tofu ($4.50) are super yummy and affordable as well. Highly recommended to go here.
Had the 4-Course menu as part of an event. This was the Korean-style braised beef short rib which had that meat-falling-off-the-bone thing going on.
At $128++ I think you can get much better food elsewhere, so the price is really for the view. It is really quite cool to see the sharks and rays float past while you eat so maybe worth trying just once.
Received this impressive 8 bottle set as a gift. Lovely aesthetic. :) My favorites are white, matcha and black as they are less sweet. Bandung and Rose taste a bit artificial.
Fragrant chicken rice with tender and flavourful meat. Chili sauce is well done too. Queue can be very long and slow so best to avoid peak mealtimes.
Short walk from Bras Basah mrt so it makes for an affordable eat in town.
Super moist and soft cookie, 10x better than subway. This was the white chocolate & macadamia one, so it wasn't too sweet. Such a steal for 6 (different) cookies at only 8.85 with burpple.
Does get a lil bit greasy so don't leave it out too long.
So light, milky and not too sweet. Super yummy and worth the $. Another great dddk ice cream find. 😊
