Our usual combi of Fisherman (smoked salmon + cream cheese) and Pearl Harbour (spam + sunny side up). Fisherman tasted healthier/lighter and we loved the generous portion of salmon. Personal favourite is Pearl Habour which was stronger tasting = more flavourful, only downside is that it’s super messy to eat.
Ordered the pork sukiyaki which came with good portion of tender meat and fresh vegetables. Salmon sashimi was fresh and ramen from Tampopo is a must try too! Rich broth and portion of noodles is just nice.
⭐️ 4/5
Loved the chicken wings (spicy, original, garlic) and potatos. The sticks were well marinated with mala sauce and spice level was just nice (I am a 小辣 - 中辣). You can ask for non-spicy sauce too if you can’t take spice. Toasted bread with sugar too was life changing, must order! (up to 50% on eatigo)
⭐️ 3/5
Changed our ice cream to vanila and the brownie came with candied walnuts and butterscotch sauce. The fudgy brownie did not disappoint and we loved the fresh walnuts too! Not the most value for money but it tasted good. (4/5)
Ordered the Duck Confit Tagliatelle ($24) and Short Ribe Katsu ($28) using Burpple 1-for-1
Pasta came with generous shreds of duck confit and I enjoyed the crunch from the hazelnuts. The cream sauce was so rich and flavourful as well - good for sharing as it may get ‘jelat’ after awhile (4/5)
Short Rib Katsu was worth trying with 1-for-1 deal! Meat was tender and well cooked, cream sauce served on the side complimented well. Not a fan of the brown charred sauce though and wished the crust was crispier. (2.5/5)
⭐️ 3.5/5, maybe try the truffle fries next time as it smells HEAVENLY
matcha parfait, tiramisu and mille crepe cake - great variety of matcha desserts available and the matcha taste was strong. tiramisu and crepe had too much cream for my liking but soft serve was nice.
⭐️ 2.5/5, nothing memorable
ordered a diy okonomiyaki ($14) potato cheese mentai ($10) and garlic fried rice ($5) - the star has to be the okonomiyaki which tasted pretty authentic (it’s cheaper if you choose to cook it yourself, so we did). fried rice was fragrant and yummy, potato mentai ($10) was so-so, nothing very special about it. the place is a little small so do call in advance to book to avoid waiting! we arrived around 8pm on a weekday and waited for ~15mins.
⭐️ 4/5, will be back if we’re around the area
super worth with burpple 1-for-1 set - came with a good portion of fresh seafood in our rice bowl which complimented nicely with the mentaiko tamago 🥰 very hearty and filling meal! The items in the set menu has changed since our visit so do check it out before visiting.
⭐️ 4/5 with the 1-for-1 deal, value for money
used burpple 1-for-1 on garlic sizzling rice + grilled chicken & mushroom risotto, and ordered the garlic snowing pizza which was so fragrant and yum (the thin crust is to die for). loved how they added fried garlic in all their dishes for the extra flavour 🤤 good for sharing as it got abit jelat for me after eating the same dish constantly.
⭐️ 4/5, will try their pasta dishes next and order the garlic snowing pizza again!
ordered the popular pork katsu curry rice ($7.50), smoked duck ramen ($7.50) and salmon mentai maki ($11) - the curry was good and went well the crispy katsu cutlet, but i was expecting the ramen to taste more authentic (it tasted more like food court-style ramen). the mentai roll tasted average too, nothing mind blowing.
⭐️ 3/5, would come back to try the sashimi which looked very plump
10 items for $13 🤯 located at blk 878C tampines ave 4 (523876), this was a rare find of cheap dim sum in the east - loved the har gao (prawn dumpling), chicken feet, and prawn chee cheong fun. carrot cake was meh and don’t be foolish like us who thought ‘custard bun’ was liu sha bao.......
⭐️ 3/5 - value for money and tasted decent but it wouldn’t be something we will travel all the way for
ordered chilli scram (v), eggs cocette (v), big boy breakfast and truffle fries for 4 pax and it was super filling - ingredients were fresh (esp the vegetables), eggs were well cooked and loved the bread. paid ~ $18 per pax which is considerably worth it! wide range vegan options available too 🥗
⭐️ 4/5, will try their mains the next time I’m around the area
