Yeast Side best side 🌞 a large, cosy space for working while eating.
We had the mac and cheese, salmon burrata tartine and their Hojicha and Matcha cloud drinks!
Their drinks definitely stood out, and they use powder from niko neko so they really hit the spot! Their mac and cheese was very rich and best shared with 2 people. Salmon sandwich was good, recommended to eat quick when fresh. We will be back to try their pizzas!
Brunch here for my birthday celebration and the staff was attentive and friendly. They took the time to explain the diff menus and recommended items!
Ordered:
- gnocchi
- Matcha sweet potato drink
- hainanese pork chop ❤️
The drink tasted great, with an ideal ratio of sweet potato and Matcha! Gnocchi had an umami taste. Highlight was definitely the pork chop with just the right amount of fat and meat, that made it moist, yet it kept the crunch on the outside and softness on the inside ❤️🍖
We had an early birthday celebration here and the ambience was lovely, lit well, and the food was meticulously crafted and cooked by the chefs in front of us.
Highlights for me were the 16-day dry aged kingfish loin (smoky flavor emanating), prawn toast and aoili and the jumbo tiger prawns!
We tried the salmon sashimi udon, cheezilla yakitori and ultimate maki!
The udon is great for those wanting a healthy clean diet! The cheezilla was really cheesy, best shared with others. The ultimate maki sauces were unique and tasty!
Service was friendly too
Had the salmon sashimi udon, double warrior salmon don, ultimate maki, cheezilla yakitori ❤️ recommend the udon for clean healthy diet, the maki was tasty too! The server was polite and friendly too!
The ambience was rustic and warm. We came here for the beef tongue, the mini donburis, the gyu don and sashimi don, the sake oysters, the gratin, the cod (seasonal item) and wasabi octopus.
I highly recommend the crab gratin and cod 🔥🔥🔥
The House Chungdam had a lovely interior, and the sauces and side dishes laid out for us were extravagant. We had the following dishes, and will be back to try the beef kbbq
Pork jowl, pork collar, pork belly - they grilled it for us, top notch service
I liked the pork belly best and the vegetables were fresh
Served with egg and soybean soup with generous contents of tofu, mushroom, meat and potato. Soup was the highlight here, hearty and full of depth ❤️
Cold noodles - texture was perfectly chewy and their ingredients were so fresh ✅✅✅
Had an omakase lunch set and it was such a well curated, enlightening experience for the senses.
They provided a unique offering of assorted dishes made with their own touches and housemade sauces.
Here are the list of items we had and my personal rating of them:
1. Salad w dried shrimps - tad bit salty but I like the combination
2. Chawanmushi 🌟🌟🌟
- secret is in the mountain pepper that elevates the simple dish with a zesty, fresh taste
3. Cold noodles with tomato base
The texture of the noodles was so chewy, I really liked it
4. Knifejaw fish w vinegar rice sushi
- ishigakidai, taste was light and subtle, but nothing like we've ever tasted. Coupled with the light salt and vinegar, it was a delight
5. Marinated tuna 🌟🌟🌟
- creamy, refreshing w a dash of yuzu
6. Amberjack w citrus pepper
- delayed fishy aftertaste, complemented well w the citrus
7. Spanish mackerel aging more than 12 days
- subtle taste that when combined w wasabi, did not really have a strong taste
8. Fatty tuna 🌟🌟🌟
- so tender and bursting w flavor, melt in your mouth. The best fatty tuna sushi you could probably find in Singapore
9. Uni sushi
- so flavorful and delicate in balance
10. Slow cooked Scallop
- it enhances the yuzu flavor but this was my least favorite sushi
11. Minced fatty tuna w radished pickles 🌟🌟🌟
- soooo gooood, again the combination was perfect
12. Tamago
So soft and light, their homemade tamago tasted like a light cake
13. Warabimochi and brown sugar sauce for dessert 🌟🌟🌟
Hands-down the softest, most exquisitely delicate Warabimochi. The mochi beats Kamakura in terms of texture, though I prefer Kamakura's slightly roasted / bitter sauce over their brown sugar sauce.
Great dinner or supper place in the vicinity, serving a wide variety of tasty dishes with hearty sweet potato porridge. Recommend the beancurd tofu hotplate and fried pork!
Quality Indo food at affordable prices - Main highlights were the Bebek Goreng and Oxtail Soup. They also have 5 different chilli sauces!
Had our Anniversary lunch here not just for the occasional classy atmosphere but standout dishes.
Noteworthy mentions:
Smoked asparagus 🌟🌟🌟
Close your eyes and imagine a smoky forest in your mouth
Heirloom Tomatoes
Tomatoes can taste this good!? 🍅
Chicken leg 🥵
Tender is the flesh, generous is the meat 🍖
Food was hearty, fresh, full of flavor, especially the har cheong kai! Honestly the best har cheong kai I've tasted in SG so far. The ngoh hiang tasting platter was very fresh and of great quality, and prawn soup was flavourful! I don't usually eat yellow noodles cos of the alkaline flavor, but I found this surprisingly tasty.
Service was also commendable despite the busy crowd!
