Second time back at Super Thai by Soi Aroy!

The last time I got the ala carte main dishes tze char style, this time round I tried their rice/noodle dishes!

Basil minced pork with rice ($8): You are able to customise the spicyness level for this. I ordered the original spicyness level and it was just right! Super love this dish. Comfort food for cold rainy days!

Meal was affordable because we had one for one with burpplebeyond! If will like to signup for a burpplebeyond plan, use this code to get 30% off Burpple Beyond Premium plan! https://burpple.com/invite/MAND8435

I have visited tea tree cafe at kallang wave mall countless times to get their drinks for takeaway! But this time round for a change, I dined in to try their dessert bowls!

Coconut dessert bowl (small size for $3.50): Comes with a choice of base that can be grass jelly / pudding. Toppings include mini qq taro ball, mini QQ sweet potato ball, coconut noodle jelly and red beans. I opted for the pudding for this base since pudding is my favourite bbtea topping to go with fruity green teas! My favourite part was the springy coconut noodle jelly, very fragrant coconut flavour! I also love the mini qq taro and sweet potato balls as they were not overly chewy, and mini sized balls make for easy eating!

Signature bowl (small size for $3.50): This dessert bowl is also DIY in the sense that you can choose the base to be grass jelly or pudding. Opted for grass jelly for this! The toppings for this bowl include red beans, fresh sweet potato, fresh yam and QQ balls! What is special about this grass jelly is that it is super SMOOTH and SILKY! It is not the firm hard grass jelly that you see in most other desserts stalls or sold at supermarket.

The dessert bowls are all freshly prepared. Great refreshing dessert to beat the hot weather in Singapore!

Besides these cold desserts, they do also sell hot desserts like tang yuan and tau suan etc. Do check out @teatreecafesingapore ! They have 9 outlets across Singapore! The kallang wave mall outlet was very spacious with lots of seats!

Grandma Banmian from Amoy Street Food Centre!

If you have always wanted to try Grandma Ban Mee 老妈子板面 (from Amoy Street Food Centre) but not quite ready to brace the long queue or cant travel to Tanjong Pagar area for weekday lunch, now is your time to try it! Because Amoy Steret Food Centre is now closed for renovation until 10 Jan 2022, @grandmabanmian came up with frozen ban mian to continue its operations these few months!

The banmian package is delivered frozen, and it consists of banmian/youmian packed separately with the ingredients (minced pork meat with mushrooms and black fungus, iikan bilis, dark soy sauce and red chilli!

All you have to do is to boil them in a pot of boiling water for 3-7mins for the noodles (i prefer 7 mins! It was still the qq chewy bouncy texture after boiling for 7mins) and 5 mins for the ingredients and then mix them up in a bowl !

To zheng-ed up your dry banmian/youmian bowl, add an onsen egg to go together with it! (My simple way of cooking onsen egg - boil some water and immediately submerge eggs in the bowl of boiled water with lids on for 30minutes; followed by immediately submerging it in a bowl of ice cold water placed in the refrigerator until ready for consumption).

Super love their qq noodles, very springy. Coat the noodles up with the dark sauce and chilli sauce to have a slurping good meal! (In case you are afraid the chilli looks too spicy, it wasnt! Spicy level just right, wont leave you running for water)

Do check out the link on @grandmabanmian profile page if you are interested to order this frozen ban mian! Each frozen noodle pack costs $4.90. There is free delivery islandwide for over $100 worth of orders, so do jio your neighbours /friends to group order together! :)

Second time back at Bakery Brera and Fine Foods Pte Ltd after almost one year! Always coming here for breakfast before long hikes at botanics garden or towards Macritchie reservoir area!

What is different this time round is that dine in on the two small tables outside are no longer allowed. The hawker centre was also closed for cleaning at the time of our visit. Luckily there are public sitting area right outside the bakery!

The last time I tried the matcha cruffin and kouign-aman. This time round, I got the croissant ($3.80), since it was less messy to eat as a takeaway. Think this item is also one of the cheapest item the bakery is selling. The croissant ticks all the boxes of a good croissant. It was still warm, buttery smell and taste, crispy flaky exterior and soft fluffy in the interior.

Will come back again to try more of the other items!

Chilli Crab Crawfish from @kiap_crawfish !

These crawfishes are freshly harvested, locally farmed and sustainably produced in SIngapore!

Featured here is the chilli crab crawfish!♥️Chilli crab is the favourite choice of sauce for crabs, but have you tried it with crawfish?

The crawfish was fresh, sweet and succulent! The sweet spicy chilli crab sauce was super fragrant and tasty! While the mantou may appear overfried, it wasnt hard or chaotah at all. In fact it was fried to perfection, outside crispy and the inner bun still soft and moist! 👍🏻Dip the mantou into the chilli crab sauce to enjoy the burst of flavours in your mouth! 💥

If you will like to try these locally produced crawfishes, do check out @kiap_crawfish at Shenton Foodhall at Shenton House now! Delivery service is also available - whatsapp them at 8771 4410 to place your orders!

My top favourite kueh lapis sagu is this one from bengawan solo! Have been eating it for 20+ years (along with the price increase, it is now $1.20 per piece)! Very fragrant coconuty taste, kueh layers not too hard, and pretty colours to look at! I eat it both ways - peeling layer by layer or without peeling, depending on whether i have time! ❤️💚🤍

No one does it as good as bengawan solo!
