📍Bee Kia Restaurant!

I have known this place since 3 years ago while looking for food around the Novena area, but never got around to try it as it was too far a walk away from office area; not near MRT; and not along the way of my direction to home. Finally tried it during Phase 2 (HA) period! Haha what the irony!

Decided to finally give it a go after seeing people post about it on the hawker heroes FB group. And the plus point about this place - can call ahead to give orders and just go there to collect! They dont have a menu, but you can google / scroll through IG or burpple to see what others are ordering to have a sense of what they sell!

Food that my family tried:
-Har Cheong Gai (prawn paste chicken) ($10 version): This was supposedly the HIGHLIGHT. They are known for this chicken wings and beef hor fan. While it was good, i thought the prawn paste taste could be even more pronounced. So far, the best prawn paste chicken are the ones at Yishun Park Hawker Ah Tan chicken wings.

-Beef Hor Fan (small): Reserve my comments for this as I am not really a beef eater. But my family members enjoyed it!

-Seafood bean paste hor fan (medium): Fret not if you dont take beef, because there are non-beef options for all items as well. Be very specific to order the BLACK BEAN SAUCE horfan for this, if not you may end up with the typical lighter hue hor fan, which is not what you want. Haha up till now, i still cant pronounce the chinese words for BLACK BEAN SAUCE. It just doesnt go into my brain lol

-Fried rice (medium): Load up with carbs! I think there are many different types of fried rice, but we specifically got the ones with prawns and char siew!

New food place listed on Burpple Beyond - +886 Taiwanese Bistro!

To shorten your wait, do call / whatsapp the bistro before heading there to self collect orders as they seem to have quite alot of delivery orders.

Items I tried
-Chicken Mee Sua ($5): Super silky soft mee sua! Much thinner and smoother than shihlin’s! The vinegar taste in this meesua is also less strong (which I like! Usually i will ask for no vinegar)
-Chives and pork dumplings ($5.8 for 6 pieces): Got this because 1-for-1 order and was buying a meal for 3 pax. Was ordering without the benefit of a photo, and I thought this will be like a fried gyoza dumpling. But it turned out to be the chinese steamed kind. It was slightly dry? And somehow there werent any chilli given. Not sure because it was left out or they dont provide any chilli for such dumpling orders.
- Ah Bao Braised Pork Rice ($5.80): Got this because dining companion was craving Lu Rou Fan for the LONGESTT time! I tried one scoop of it and didnt really fancy it, tooo fatty for me!
-Scallion Chicken Rice ($5): Supposedly served chilled (the chicken), but it didnt seem very chilled to me. Maybe because it was a takeaway order so all the other food also turned lukewarm. So this was actually pretty good for me, surprisingly! Or maybe because I was too hungry by the time the lunch reached my house!

Do note that the burpplebeyond 1 for 1 is only for a subset of the menu. In this case, only for the first two items listed above (chicken mee sua and dumplings). I must say it was slightly pricey at $5+ for the other items considering the portions. But on the whole, still an affordable place, considering it is a dine-in bistro!

I love taimei bbtea drinks using @lazada_sg coupons vouchers!

The queue at the Bukit panjang outlet was super long wait though as the outlet receives lots of foodpanda and grabfood orders. the wait was almost 20-30mins on a sat afternoon.

Decided to buy the Lazada vouchers because drinks sounded fanciful and looked pretty, but they fell short of my expectations.

🍹osmanthus fresh milk: this tastes way too milky to me
🍹sunny island: Hokkaido milk with fresh lemon juice, honey and mango, with popping mango, and butterfly blue pea tea. There is also mango yoghurt in it.
