Was craving some kimchi fried rice with cheeseee. Hence, decided to order this Kimchi Fried Rice 🍚 (RM16.90). To my dismay, I can hardly taste any cheese from it. I even seek the waiter's confirmation that this has cheese in it. 😔 The Kimchi fried rice is tad sweeter compared to those that I've had. The yellow ring is egg mixture and probably 0.01% of cheese 😑🙄 Overall reasonably priced but more cheese pleaaeee!
Another new player in the ice cream league! And it's calling my name. I dragged my friend along and decided to give it a shot. The Chinese peach (蟠桃)-looking which has the meaning of 'LONGENVITY' in Chinese. It's coated with white chocolate and when you break it apart, it's matcha ice cream underneath. The bottom part is black sesame rice cream, like very very black sesameyy. The mango passion sorbet is light and refreshing. By saying light it is by no way means it is tasteless or whatsoever. I will definitely come by but probably won't order the fancy dessert.
Fibre intake is essential 😏 Carrot cake is your safest option if you are not adventurous. Generous walnut slapped with just the right layers of creamcheese frosting.
The good old classic ori burnt cheesecake. It's dense, it's smooth, it's rich. Somehow it lacks the kick... it's not 'burnt' and moist enough. Having said that, I really like the cream in the middle of the top and bottom layer!
Blueberry + Rosemary = Disaster 😑 Order this at your own risk. It's so rosemary that I can't have second sip. Urghh.
Reading the name Coconut Gula Melaka Waffle (RM23), it has all the essential local dessert flavour: coconut, gula melaka, and caramelised banana. The presentation is on point but sadly the flavour isn't doing the same impact to our tastebud. The waffle is crispt but very "empty" and hollow when bite into it. And we can barely taste any Gula Melaka... Perhaps they can drizzle a few more teaspoon on top.
Chicken Pesto Pizza (RM32) Chicken is a bit too salty to my liking, can't really taste any of the pesto sauce. Overall it's a mediocre thin crust pizza. Good to be shared in group.
It won't be a complete Char Chan Teng kind of tea time without everyone's favourite Pineapple Bun with butter or more commonly known as 菠蘿油. And we were intrigued by the Soya Bean Curd Tart on its menu too. The polo bun is not too shabby, crusty top and soft, fluffy bun with generous slap of butter in the middle. I reckon it'd taste even better if it just bake freshly from oven. Was quite pleasantly surprised that the Soya Bean Curd flavour really stand out, thought it'd be another 'mehh' creation. The HK Style Milk Tea today was a bit off. The HK Signature Coffee was okay-ish but nothing to shout about.
BIG kitchen recently having these RM30 for two set of value meals that come with soup and main course. We opted mushroom soup over French onion soup and Spaghetti Vongole, and another set of Roasted Chicken comes with our choice of side, fries! The Spaghetti Vongole is of mediocre. Considering the price and portion, there's really nothing much to complain. Plus you get some small lala too. However, their thick cut chips are really thicqqqq and chunky! If you're fans of string fries, you might not like it.
This is my all real time favourite bingsu place whenever I'm craving for korean bingsu. This Milk Injeolmi Patbingsu (RM34.90- friend sized) can be shared among 3 friends. The shaved ice blends so well together with the yellow bean powder, red bean paste that is not overly sweet and the tokk (rice cake) that is soft and chewy! You can add more condensed milk on top of you have huge sweet tooth like me!
Pretty sure Oyakodon is no stranger to all my fellow jap food fans. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how well the eggs are cooked. So tender and fluffy there. Everything is well seasoned, apart from the chicken that isn't fresh enough.
Kid you not, this Grilled Cheese Sandwich (w/ Bacon))(RM20) easily be one of the best GCS that I've had in Klang Valley. Look at the sourdough bread coated with oozing cheese and the crispy bacon streak 😋 served with mustard sauce.
