The sauce was tangy, a little bit sour which made it super refreshing. Only thing was that we’d wish for more salmon (we got 4 slices!)

They were super generous with the togarashi seasoning, but the powder that did not dissolve gave off a grainy and gritty texture at some point.

We also got their 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗶 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗮𝗴𝗲 ($𝟴) and 𝗘𝗯𝗶 𝗙𝗿𝘆 ($𝟱), which would be great pairings for their sake and beer!

The 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗸𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶 ($𝟭𝟮.𝟵𝟬) and 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶 ($𝟴.𝟵𝟬) were gorgeously presented. However, we found the ratio of rice to filling to be quite imbalanced, with there being wayyy too much rice. Furthermore, the rice was packed very densely and did not have any sushi vinegar flavour. We had trouble finishing all those carbs.

As they are still in their soft launch phase, some things could be tweaked better. However, we’re glad that their rice bowls and mains were executed well and live up to the standards of their sister restaurant @tanukiraw! Sumo Bar Happy is also pet-friendly˜

Wild Olives will continue to satisfy your western food cravings and their unique dishes (and sides) are a cut above the rest. Although they’ve increased prices, their food is still relatively affordable. You’ve got to try out their food yourself to know how good it is! 🤍🫶🏻

P.S. come 1 hour before opening to be the first few in line, grab a book, a chair and brace yourself for the queue! 🫡

This featured a generous slice of fresh salmon slathered with a smooth honey mustard cream sauce. The fish was grilled well and was soft and flakey on the inside, with a crispy skin on the outside it was really SO satisfying.

Their grilled chicken was quite standard. Tender and juicy, it went well with the mushroom sauce. We wanted a change for today, but we’d stick with our usual, their pork chop, next time.

The sides at most western food stalls are usually one and the same, frozen and nothing special. However, at Wild Olives, their sides are not to be brushed aside! ☝🏻 The 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 🍄‍🟫🍚🌟 is a must-get. The fried shallots and mushrooms add on so much fragrance and flavour 🤤, and we love it so much that we always get extras to go! Their 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗲𝘀 are the wetter and chunkier kind, (but definitely not instant) and their 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗯 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗲𝘀 are delicious albeit a little oily - but all of these sides are definitely worth a try. 🥔🫶🏻

We also got their 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗲 ($𝟳.𝟮𝟬) 🧆 which was definitely tasty although they were a bit heavy handed on the seasoning.

The 𝗣𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗽 ($𝟭) 🥣 was a pleasant surprise for us. It was creamy and light, and made in-house with love! 🥰

The cross section revealed a generous amount of black sesame filling. Our first impression was that the filling was thickly packed and finely ground, sporting a dark shade of onyx black. Maybe because we didn’t have it immediately, the filling wasn’t liquidy at all, and remained like a thick paste even after heating it up.
