We went to Aburiya for a small early birthday celebration. Located just at the end of Boat Quay, the tables were well spaced in little booths where you can enjoy the privacy of your meal. We got two 250g moriwase platters, as well as two other beef dishes (I think it's the short rib, we took the waiter's recommendations). The choice of cuts on the platter varied but overall was good, and evoked a resounding "Mmm" at first bite from my companions! There are two sauces and salt to season the cuts but they taste fantastic on their own. I prefer yakiniku yazawa but for the price point and quality Aburiya is very decent. If you have entertainer, it's 1-for-1 too! Recommended!
No need to wake up so early to have some of these egg royale. We serve our brunch items from 10am till 9pm (only on Weekends) so come and geddit
Awesome experience at this eating place. We opted Omakase style and Chef decides what we eat and this sushi buffet is really value-for-money. TOP 3 faves were aburi swordfish, white tuna, mentai ebi. Weekend lunch at $41.90++
So much love for Lucha Loco's food – every thing that they bang out of the kitchen is sure to be loaded with flavour, it's like fireworks in the mouth.
This prawn taco jazzed up with a chipotle dressing and fresh salsa was so utterly delish that I didn't mind getting my hands messy – imagine sauce dribbling down my fingers and palm – in the process of devouring it.
Tip from a friend had us heading right for this new Ma La Xiang Guo place. Located in an underground car park food court, it's not very accessible unless you live around the area. Always, always love it when charges are by servings (similar to Chinatown's Ri Ri Hong) instead of weight. It's $1 for veg, $2 for chicken and pork, etc., hence so much more affordable! The hot pot here is a wetter version than the usual kind, with a slightly thick consistency sauce but still very satisfying, also one of the better ones I've had recently! But, I really got to say they are too heavy handed with the salt, so make sure to request for less upon order. We also asked for more garlic which upped the fragrance!

If you are a chocolate lover, this is the eclair for you — rich and smooth hazelnut chocolate cream with a Choux pastry that wasn't too dry nor wet. Definitely also one of the eclair flavours that is recommended here.
Gorgeous whiskies paired with equally great chocolates from @demochoco at @thebelljar_sg.
Starting off with the brash and spicy Miyagikyo Single Malt coupled with buttery Dulcey chocolate, we worked our way down the line from strength to strength. The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 year old/Sitio Tanque coffee chocolate truffle as well as Glenfiddich 15 year single malt/Apple Brandy chocolate pairings intrigued our palates, but what truly impressed was the unexpected duet awof smoky Laphroaig 21 year old and milky matcha truffle.
For the curious, whisky/food pairing dates are usually released on the month itself, but they are always open to private booking requests.
Much appreciation to @burpple for the invite!
Taste: 4.5/5
Ironically speaking, it's been a long time since we sat down and just ate and talk. Should do more often.
Never imagined the interior of Boca to look so gorgeous. The ambience here is so on point, it's a perfect setting for a cosy gathering. And of course, the food here will not disappoint.
The chicken was tender, juicy and crunchy!! The ah Ma noodles were even more amazing with a perfect texture, chewy QQ in every mouthful! It's seriously one of the most flavorful noodles I've ever had! So much goodness!
Thank you @aerdreana for the recommendation!! I'll be back! 😏
Can't resist anything Earl Grey, and I knew I had to come down to try this dish after seeing some posts circulating on Instagram about their new menu. Thought that the pancake batter was a little flat (could have been a little fluffier for a better texture) and a wee bit gritty inside; perhaps the batter needed a little more whisking before ending up on the pan. That being said, I must say that the pancakes indeed carried a nice hint of Earl Grey aroma upon the first bite which would satiate any Earl Grey fan out there. Coupled with White Chocolate Macadamia crumbles, it carried quite a good amount of sweetness amongst the nutty flavour, and around some spots, tasted real familiar to the crumbles from Post cereals (another favourite thing of mine). Poached pear was juicy and soft, releasing its natural sweetness on the pancakes as you cut a morsel apart, while the bottom comes coated in hardened dark chocolate. While having its own hits and misses, a pretty decadent breakfast dish that seems pretty apt even for dessert, though I do hope that they would refine the batter for an even more indulgent experience. Also spied that they have a Poke Bowl and a Braised Pork Bowl on the revamped lunch menu; guess I would be back pretty soon again!
