18++ [RM18++ 🤣]⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: Upon entry, the greenery filled space greeted me, exuding a sense of calm and serenity. The petite and intricate ice cream cakes lining the clear display attested to the establishment's high level of dessert craftsmanship. ⁣
⁣⁣
💬:⁣⁣ This cake amazed looks-wise more than it did taste-wise (and price-wise HAHAH). It tasted just like any other chocolate and nut flavoured dessert. Was expecting a stronger hit of alcohol, but was sadly let down. Overall, not bad at all, but not memorable. ⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣
Still love the place and would 10/10 recommend for the comfortable environment. Would love to re-visit and give their other offerings a shot. ⁣

✨: It was love at first bite when I first got to try these as a side to my Geisha burger a few months back. The tangy lime sauce and the fragrant, toasty serunding bits (dried meat floss) made for a combination I never knew I needed. The fries, especially when warm, were crisp on the outside and perfectly mushy(? can't think of a better adjective) on the inside. ⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣
Not sure if it's a permanent menu item so if it's gone I'll be a sad bean HAHAH ⁣

Ren Matcha Fresh Milk Latte [RM16]; Hojicha Soy Milk Latte [RM10] ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: The matcha and hojicha were the best I've had in Malaysia thus far. Indeed, the matcha was a vibrant green and jam-packed with umami, both signs of the best quality matcha. Loved the minimalist interior and the staff who were so helpful and friendly. ⁣
⁣⁣
💬:⁣⁣ The quaint space doesn't fit many, so there is a risk of not having anywhere to sit. Also wouldn't recommend if you don't have a particular appreciation for green tea (price is pretty steep 😆)⁣

Will definitely be back to try more menu items as well as shoot my shot at seeing Niko the cat (since I missed him this time!)

Prawn + Char Siew + Egg Fried Rice [RM9.50] ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: Portions were pretty generous, with each bite bound to contain a piece of meat. I particularly enjoyed the combination of the crispy fried egg, soy sauce, and the fragrant rice.⁣

💬:⁣⁣ However, the price tag is pretty hefty for a hawker meal. Also have to add that the char siew pieces tasted quite old and unfresh (not sure if it's a one-off thing). ⁣
⁣⁣⁣
In short, a sinful and satisfying meal but certainly not the best fried rice I've had. ⁣

📷 In frame: ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Canelé [RM5] ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣

✨: Canelés have got to be my favourite sweet baked good ever. It’s my must get every time I’m at Publika, since Maison Des Pains is the only place I know to get my canelé fix (+ they do a good one :D). There’s just something magical about the French pastry’s chewy, slightly bitter outer shell and custardy rum-infused insides.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It’s such a bummer I live so far away though. Would really appreciate recommendations on where else I can get canelés!

Chicken and Aubergine Sandwich [RM22] ⁣; White [RM10] ⁣
⁣⁣⁣
✨: The chicken and aubergine sourdough sandwich was a perfect balance of textures and flavour. Sandwiched in between two slices of toasted sourdough was moist, tender aubergine that complimented perfectly with generously spiced chicken strips. I’m no coffee connoisseur, but I can say their flat white is one of the best I’ve had-- silky smooth, rich, and with a slight kick of acidity. Even more pertinent was the acidity in the oat milk rendition of the drink, which to my surprise, was nothing short of amazing. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣
💬: Although hefty, the price tag is a given, considering the stellar quality of food and prime location. ⁣

Visit for amazing cuppas, sourdough, and shots for the gram! ⁣

📷 In frame: ⁣⁣⁣ Signature French Toast [RM19.50] [non-halal]⁣⁣

✨: I had high expectations for the place. After all, am I not being promised a break from the everyday urbanities 🤣? ⁣
⁣⁣
💬: I was sadly slightly let down by this french toast. My past love affairs with the combination of banana and bacon at RONIN and Sin See Tai made it hard to resist ordering Urban Daybreak’s rendition. Unfortunately, the banana was underripe, the bacon soggy, and the pairing of peanut butter (tasted like almond butter to me) with the dish just didn’t quite do it for me. ⁣

I’d love to revisit the place if I were in the area, though! Many menu offerings caught my eye so I’d be spoilt for choice. ⁣
