For Korean Eats in a Cool Spot Tropicana Avenue welcomes a chic Korean restaurant that doles out tasty Korean pancakes, noodles and rice dishes. To start, order the Gogi Wanja Jijimi (Korean pancake, RM18) for the table. Each pan-fried pancake filled with pork, chives, carrot and onion is perfectly crispy while still meaty in the centre, and is served with a tangy onion soy dipping sauce. Turn to the bowl section on the menu when it’s time for mains. Try the Bibim Guksu (RM22) for a flavour bomb – Korean noodles are tossed in a spicy sauce and topped with crispy pork belly, spring onions and chilli.

Bibim Guksu (RM22) I have a love-hate relationship with this dish. I really enjoyed it but I hated how small the portion was for the price I’m paying. Felt they could have been more generous with the pork and the noodles :(

Hot Chocolate & Pain Au Chocolat Loved the environment and the food here! Defo will come back for next round to try their other pastries!

Banana Yogurt Loaf Pretty dense and slightly on the dry side. Not too sweet. There’s actually banana in it, which you can see. Since its a pretty thick slice, best to share. This is RM10.

For Pizza Done Right Decked out in retro shades of green and yellow is this laidback pizzeria in Happy Mansion doling out delicious wood-fired pies. Cheese lovers will adore the Say Cheese (RM32) made with four cheeses — Fior Di Latte, gouda, gorgonzola and Grana Padano. Other big hits with the community include The PM (Margherita, RM20) and the Big Brunch (RM32) topped with beef bacon and a jiggly egg. The PM This is a very basic pizza with no cheese. Just tomato paste as base and topped with roasted cherry tomatoes, garlic cloves, oregano and fresh basil leave. For people who can’t take cheese, this is a good alternative. This is RM20.

Say Cheese Every cheese lovers dream. Pizza with 4 types of cheese. Since the cheese is very stringy and soft when its hot, highly recommend to use hands. Not too cheesy in comparison to some cheese pizza. This is RM32.

Dry Nood With Pork Dry noodle with pork cutlet (RM16.90). Springy and unlike-your-usual-tantan-noodle pair with cook to perfection coddled egg (look at the flowing egg yolk!) Crispy Pork cutlet that's not oily at all.

Foo Chow Meatball Noodles Love the interior of the restaurant. Comfort food on a rainy day.

Curry Rice With Chicken Katsu I'm amazed by the portion. The curry is nothing like the Japanese curry, it's kinda spicy for a non-spicy-eater but I'm not complaining. I love every single bite of it. It comes in set, hot drink + dessert in their set lunch menu for less than RM21.

Shroom Scotch Egg The vegetarian version of scotch egg (RM21), deep fried beautifully cooked egg with runny yolk, covered with mix mushroom paste, served along with mashed sweet potato and creamy spinach sauce. Unlike your ordinary scotch egg, this version is surprisingly very flavourful and not too heavy, but the texture of mushroom paste is a bit mushy.

For Refined Comfort Fare For laidback Italian dinners over pastas, wines and delicious sharing plates, swing by this new kid along Jalan Kemuja. The menu is compact – the chef tells us it’s so he can easily change things up – but current must-haves include the fresh-flavoured Spinach and Chestnut Gnocchi (RM38), and the savoury and generously portioned Lamb Ragu Pappardelle (RM48). Lunch here, however, sees a 360-degree turn with just one main dish on offer — the chef’s signature Khao Soi (Thai curry egg noodles, RM25) that’s great for quick, solo lunches.

Hazelnut Tiramisu (RM15) Zoe only serves this one dessert: airy tiramisu coated in a yummy hazelnut chocolate, sans coffee and alcohol. I do actually prefer this version as it’s not as rich.

The coffee, however, I’ve tried better. Still I would return for their food. Recently they have expanded to another floor upstairs to cater to private function.
