Instead of ordering my usual chocolate blackout cake which I'll feel super jelat after finish it! I had a change! The base of the cake is the same as the blackout cake with caramel coated pecans then chocolate mousse and finished with maltesers πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

They don't need any justification about how good their sticky date pudding is. Simply one of the best around!

Yoogane chicken galbi ($16.90) which has a min. order of two servings! But you won't regret it. The sauce is super good! Added on a combination tteokbokki which included regular rice cakes, sweet potato rice cake and mozzarella stuffed ones! Mad love the last two one okay!! The chicken stew ($16.9) as compared to the chicken galbi didn't fared as good. Somehow the stew lacked flavor. Last was the special fried rice ($15.9) - a combination of seafood (mainly squid), beef and chicken mixed evenly with the cheese and the sauce, I liked this as well, especially when I get the glorious strands of melting cheese messy like how I eat Mac and cheese. Will be back to satisfy my korean craving! They also have free flow of korean side dishes like kimchi πŸ‘ service was attentive as well!

A korean version of ice kachang! A huge relief on a hot day 🌞🌞 Milk flavored shaved ice topped with red bean, corn flakes, rice cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Although I won't specially travel and go back for the dessert, but it's still worth a try if you're around the area.

Latte: flavorfully smooth single origin
Salted caramel tart: salty enough for my liking, love the balance of salt and caramel 😌😌
Earl grey pistachio croissant: fluffy, buttery fragrant croissant doused with earl grey sauce and top with crunchy pistachio! Another favourite!

You can trust them to produce consistent quality food.

PS steak sandwich ($32) - 400+ day grainfed sirloin steak done medium on chargrilled sourdough w/ crunchy greens and grilled onions accompanied with sesame and nori seasoned shoestring fries

Truffle shoestring fries ($15) - one of my fave place to have my truffle fries craving satisfied!!

Pumpkin soup ($14) - rich, smooth and creamy πŸ‘

Spicy king prawn aglio olio ($29) - love how the fragrance of the garlic was brought out yet not overwhelming. Could be a bit spicier IMO. Would be my fave place to have A.O if it was less oily. Overall still enjoyable

Iced Americano ($6) - not the best place to have my caffeine fix but it can still do.

New ice cream parlor in the west πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ YAY

The Sicilian Pistachio ($3.8) was rich in nutty flavor, I secretly hoped that there was more crushed pistachios because I really love the crunchy feeling that I get πŸ™ˆπŸ™Š

The bf is a fan of tea flavored ice cream and so we will always order Earl grey ($3) if there is. Glad to say that theirs was fragrant and not too sweet πŸ‘

The salted caramel/sea salt caramel ($3) however was a run of the mill. I could hardly taste any saltiness in it. However, I saw reviews on it being too salty. I guess the inconsistency is due to them still trying to work on the balance of the sweet and saltiness. I hope they find one that they like and settle on that!

The waffles ($5) was a little pricey, the ones that I usually get at salted caramel (upper thomson) was double the size at ($3.5) so yup. The waffle itself did not carry much flavor but the textured was good - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Also tried an iced americano ($4) and peppermint tea ($5.5)

Overall good experience, I can see myself coming back soon! 😊😊

Economic bee Hoon ($2.6) x Bar chor mee x fish ball noodles x teochew dumpling soup ($3 each) surprisingly one of the better market food around ☺️☺️

Classic Fuji ($7.30) is vanilla soft serve drizzled with caramel sauce, sprinkled with fragrant green tea powder on top of what seems like a crispy croissant textured, buttery, golden pastry and finished with a generous portion of azuki beans. I love it so much I can finish the whole thing on my own without feeling sick of it!

Take a break from hipster cafes, let's move on to hipster coffee shop. Salut which is located at blk 119 bukit merah lane 1 offers affordable western/French cuisine at affordable prices. Imagine your usual wonton mee/fishball noodles to various types of pastas, har cheong gai/tze char version of fried squids to calamari rings and fried chicken wings etc.

And so I tried a beef Bulgogi with truffle fries ($13) from 青(miàn) by the travelling c.o.w. The beef stripes was soft, tender, fragrant and not too salty but I found the ramen burger a bit too hard and rigid to my liking. But the idea is pretty innovative and worth a try!

Next was duck confit from Immanuel French Kitchen ($15.90). The smooth, fatty duck leg covered with crispy skin was simply delectable, atop a good textured, light buttery mashed potatoes and lastly, accompanied with seasoned vegetables - my fave for that night 😌😌

My choice of side dish was the chicken wings ($8.50) from Two Wings (because they say one is not enough). And I have to agree that their wings was not excessively oily and that the skin was addictively crispy 😌😌 one of the better wings around, forget KFC already.... Also do remember to try their homemade chilli sauce, goes super well with the wings!

My drink was Passionfruit Aloe Vera from Eskimo! Had it with 50% sugar and I found it too sweet with very little passionfruit taste. They could do better with a heavier taste (not too diluted)

Now you know where to go for a simple and affordable French fare hehe. Do take note that they are not opened on Mondays!

Midautumn festival doesn't feel complete without these babies 😍😍
