Overall I liked the dish, it's a pretty decent steak. There was a strong smokey flavour and I liked that they did not have to season the meat much, allowing the meaty flavour to really come through. The slightly disappointing thing is that the steak was not cooked to the same doneness through the steak. I asked for medium rare but half of the steak was more medium than medium rare. So towards the end it got a bit too tough for my liking. The steak itself comes with some garlic and salt, you'll have to top up for sauce and sides.
I really enjoyed the soft pillow chiffon cake which comes apart easily enough to be eaten with a spoon and yet not crumbly. It also worked well to soak up some matcha soft serve goodness. I also like extra crunch that the cereal adds to the parfait. I'm not a fan of red bean usually but this one was mild enough for my liking.
I really appreciate the strong matcha flavour. It not too bitter either so it satisfies my cravings for something slightly sweet too. Texture wise - it's not the best. I've had creamier soft serves and this one was a little too icy for my liking. I'm not sure if it's a once-off thing or the norm. Overall not my favourite matcha soft serve in Singapore but it did satisfy my cravings.
I'm usually hesitant to order salmon because I've come across too many that are either too dry, or tasteless. But when I'm at marmalade pantry, I know it won't go wrong.
The salmon is cooked to perfection, soft and tender and the freshness of the fish really shows. The accompanying sauce is good but honestly, I just like enjoying the taste of the salmon in its own, its just THAT good. The vegetables on the side were also well seasoned.
The dish is definitely pricey but you pay for good quality.
Always up for mala, we were stoked when this opened at Gardens. Not the cheapest mala around but this is to be expected in this area. There was nothing too phenomenal about it but it's just a solid bowl of mala that hits the right spot.
I am such a fan of otah but it's not a dish that is readily found everywhere. Initially I thought it was too pricey for otah but when the dish came I was just blown away by the size of it. Unlike most otahs I've had, this one was more soft and crumbly I'm used to. But I'm not complaining because every mouthful was flavourful and just a party in my mouth. There was some sotong in the otah which were also cooked well, because it was not overly chewy as they usually are.
Typically served with crab, this dish usually comes with a less pocket-friendly price. So when we saw this on the menu we knew we had to get it. Sure enough, we were not disappointed. The tang hoon was cooked to the perfect consistency, with just enough bite to it. The prawns tasted really fresh and were juicy. This is definitely one of my favourite and I will definitely come back for more.
The meat was succulent and juicy with a perfect fat to meat ratio. I don't usually like eating fats but this one was flavourful and soft, although not quite melt-in-your
-mouth. The sauce that accompanied was sweet and went well with the meat but the meat is as good on its own. Although it was a fairly generous plate of meat, I just couldn't get enough of it!
The sauce of the Tikka Masala was creamy and flavourful! We wiped down every bit of the sauce with our na'an and wished there was more of it. The chicken was succulent and tender as well. The Palak Paneer was pretty good as well, the cottage cheese giving the dish a good bite to it. We also ordered the garlic na'an which was really good too!
The char siew is tender and is coated with a caramelised sauce. The roast pork has a good fat to meat ratio and the skin is crispy enough! This is one of my favourite 叉烧烧肉 places and I can't wait to be back.
This is just one of 4 smoothie bowls we ordered and this is my favourite! It's a great choice for anyone who likes mango. The smoothie is also not overly sweet and I particularly like the granola that adds that extra crunch. The fruits used are really fresh as well. It is my first time at this shop and I really love the effort put into being environmentally friendly and socially conscious.
I was quite awed by the chicken that was flavourful and tender. I loved every bit of this dish (not the rice though, which was too hard for me). There is a wide variety of drinks available and I got the honey lemon which was 95% honey and 5% lemon. Otherwise, it was a decent experience and I will definitely be back to try the other items available for 1 for 1 on Beyond!
