I was surprised at the generous portion of this dish. There was 2 thick slabs of fish stacked on a big dollop of creamy potatoes. The fish was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This dish is a real value for money!
Overall the dish was rich in flavour and the pasta was cooked just a little more than Al dente, which is my preference. I appreciated that they were quite generous with the meat, the sauce and the cheese. Its definitely a dish I would come back for!!
You can choose between chicken tenders and half chicken, we went for the half chicken. The meat was a little dry but the cheese and 4 different types of sauces make up for that. Honestly not the best korean fried chicken but the highlight of this hotplate definitely is the cheese. The set comes with 3 drinks but honestly we felt that the amount of food is good to share with even just 2 people.
This place is always crowded so I haven't had this in years! Despite that, it still tastes as good as I remember, and is still as value for money as before:) I love the wide range of dessert and the homely interior. It's best to come early on weekends especially.
We ordered the Cha Yen (Thai milk tea) and Sea salted caramel (+$1). The caramel was a little too sweet but had a really discernible caramel-y flavour. The cha yen was milky and had a strong tea flavour which definitely did not disappoint.
The waffle is slightly crispy on the outside but mostly is soft. It had a doughy taste though, not something we were a fan of.
The star of the Scrambled Lyonnaise was indeed the scrambled eggs. Cooked to a perfect combination of runny and firm texture, its the perfect scrambled egg we were looking for. The potatoes reminded us of potatoes you get in a curry puff, which wasn't a bad thing.
We added on an apple cider sausage (+$3) which definitely made the meal more complete!
The Hearty chicken stew was pretty good as well. The chicken was really tender although a little bland. The stew was creamy and surprisingly not salty. I loved the bread which was soft and had a crispy crust.
Overall a satisfying meal. The ambience was pretty good although this place is a little hard to get to.
We wanted to try this place out since it was on Beyond.
My favourite part of the dish was the mushroom which was packed with umami flavour. The egg was very bland, although cooked to a good consistency with slightly runny yolk.
The beef however, tasted nothing like beef I know. In fact it reminded me of minced meat balls. Maybe Maru was going for a different type of beef bowl than one that I am familiar with. My friends were not as dissatisfied as I was but regardless, I did not enjoy the meal.
The past few times I came here, they were already sold out! So I decided to come earlier and I finally got it, after queueing for 25 minutes no less.
The cha shu was flavourful and tender despite each slice being quite thick. They were also very generous with the meat. The noodles were springy and were good, even on their own. And definitely try their chilli, it had a good kick to it and it seems like its homemade.
We also got the dumpling soup which surprised me. It was substantial and chock-full with meat, certainly something not many places have.
Don't let the waiting time deter you. If you're already at TBM, you should give this place a try!!
This is my favourite cupcake place! All the flavours I've tried so far are good and I can't even pick a favourite. Every one of them is moist and definitely not flaky like some cupcakes which fall apart after you bite into it.
I also like that the toppings/frostings are not overly sweet.
It's a little pricey but for the quality you get, I think it's a great treat to have every once in a while! Take note that their ION Orchard branch doesn't get their cupcake stock until around 12PM so if you reach any earlier, you won't be able to get any.
Hmmmmm. The pearls were good but that was all. They only had 4 items on the menu so we had to go with this cause we weren't a fan of the rest. Tbh not worth it because the fresh milk didn't taste special and I think there are places with equally good pearls and more drink choices.
I liked that they gave out free reusable cup holders though.
Spizza serves up decent pizzas. I like that it's not oily and the crust is crispy. The serving size is also decent for the price. We also ordered a smoked salmon pizza(not pictured here) of the same price. I felt that they were a little stingy with the salmon. Some slices barely had salmon on them. Taste wise, nothing to complain about.
Every component of this dish was cooked to our liking. I like how the scrambled eggs were done, soft and still a little runny. This place is great for chilling with friends over a good meal and the service was great too!
