Very good pho, with an excellent broth base, silky noodles and beef slices. I didn't like the bean sprout added, which was raw and tasted a bit like blood cockles. The Vietnamese spring roll was too exotic for my taste, I preferred the deep fried ones instead. The fried rice was forgettable.
Been wanting to try this fried chicken waffles for the longest time! The two pieces of chicken breast were tender with a crunchy exterior. Got pretty tiresome after a while, but dip into the sweet, mellow honey butter sauce and it's all good. The yeasty waffle however, was a major let down. I should have known straight away from the pale looking waffle that it was undercooked. But I got too caught up in talking and didn't realise the mild bitter yeast taste and moist interior. Ugh. I suspect what I had was the first waffle of the night, which should have been discarded. Other than that, the fried calamari was super good, with a stellar sauce to boot. Truffle fries were good too, with some tiny bits of truffle on top!
Huge chunks of sweet mangoes! The flavoured shaved ice was smooth, not too sweet, and very refreshing. It's perfect for a hot, sweltering day!
Quite small for its price. Caramel sauce tasted very run-of-the-mill, vanilla ice cream was forgettable. Not worth it IMO. Would love to try their mains someday.
The last time I had this was years ago at the original Sembawang branch that was near to my army camp. I remembered back then I was super impressed by the velvety, wok hei tinged White Beehoon. But this time round, I can't help but feel a little disappointed by how ordinary it tasted. Maybe I was just a hungry army boy back then.
New item on the menu but it's quite lacklustre. Duck was bland and tough. Won't recommend it. The only redeeming factor was the zesty chilli sauce that accompanied it.
Thick, fluffy black sesame waffles with a scoop of rich, aromatic green tea ice cream quite like Haagen Daaz. The miso caramel provides a tinge of saltiness and sweetness which complemented the bitter green tea ice cream and waffles well! Preferred this over the red velvet waffles. Pretty pricey at $14.
Quite plain, with hints of aromatic truffle. I mixed in the egg which made the ramen more flavourful and moist. Chashu was alright. Good to try once and that's about it. The branch here currently don't serve the soup version of the truffle ramen.
The tom yam is so guuuuud yet uber spicy 🔥 made creamier with those perfect egg yolks! #BurpKK #BeeKayKay #BurppleinBKK
Butter grilled squid that was delicious. Squid was fresh and cooked perfectly, not chewy but had a good bite. Not that cheap at $15, perfect to share!
Go for the Okonomiyaki with pork as the bacon crisp up nicely under the hot grill and lends a savoury saltiness to the dish. Prices range from $10 to $16 (mix which has squid, shrimp, pork). The place isn't well ventilated so be prepared to smell like BBQ!
Good, comforting bowl of congee at $2.50! Flavourful and incredibly smooth. Get a (better) youtiao from You Tiao Man (#02-05) and you will have the best of both worlds.
