Visited during the later part of the lunch hour and was able to get a seat for 2 with ease. Lady who served us had poor service attitude while sitting us and attending to us while the other staffs who came by after were eager to explain the Burpple exclusions and take our orders.
As the Burpple Deal was used, 2 pastas and 2 drinks had to be ordered but coffee selection was limited to only long black or iced black. A top up of $2 is required if you wanted to order coffee with dairy.
We ordered a chilli seafood pasta (front) and a salmon miso pasta (back) for the mains. For drinks we ordered a iced rose mela (sweetened cold brew Earl Grey rose and green apple) and iced lemon tea (not in photo).
Chilli seafood pasta was acceptable but the salmon miso pasta was underwhelming. Maybe it was the expectation I had from the photos of other bupplers content. Although it's salmon miso pasta, there was barely any taste of miso. The large chunks of salmon did not help add points to the dish either. Perhaps we should have ordered the truffle carbonara instead. Over to the soupy chilli seafood pasta. The prawns in the Chilli seafood pasta was juicy and plump while the clams and generous mushroom portion were cooked well. Slight chilli touch to it so those who can't take spice will be able to have this dish.
Drinks-wise, ice lemon tea was nothing special. The iced rose mela was quite refreshing but do better with lesser sweetener and more Earl grey taste.
Overall damage should be about $20 ($13.90 for each of the pasta we ordered).
They had a $4.50 top up deal for a drink and a soup of the day without Burpple which is pretty worth it in my opinion. Not sure if the drinks exclusion will be the same as burpple tho.
Made our way here thinking that we would be able to order Burpple 1 for 1 mains (una-tama Don) with the addition of 1 for 1 drinks but was asked by the server to order from a exclusive menu of "set meals" starting from $25 (without drinks). Drinks are mandatory for the claim of the burpple deal and separately charged ~$2 to $3.50.
Eventually settled with the set meal of $25 (selection of 2 dishes being pork tonkatsu and unagi) along with additional $3.50 for a cup of calpis water. Set meal came with sesame salad side and rice. Portion of unagi was disappointly small considering that we actually came here for the unagi. The tonkatsu had a good crunch though and I would suggest to give the tonkatsu barbecue pairing sauce a miss, it was too sweet for our liking.
Checked the deal when we were going to pay and noted that the deal states "Mains & Drinks". Fine prints and exclusion states that the deal does not include set meals, which in this case is contradictory to what they have asked us to order from.
Checked in with another male server and was shock to know that the boss had been made aware of this discrepancy by other customers but had not done the required actions to ensure the correct terms of sale is reflected on the Burpple page. Felt extremely cheated.
Hope all potential customers are made aware of this before they decide to head down and patronise the shop. We have made the mistake and missed out on another previous customer's review informing of this.

Had this place on my list of to-go's for a long while but never got to visiting it. Seems quite inaccessible unless you drive/ grab as it is nestled in the private estates of Faber drive. Small section of a shopfront that seems to be shared with Gelatolabo.
White (hot) going at $5.50 (normal size in a small double wall cup with a handle)
Additional $1 for iced or upsize hot white (upsize in larger double wall cup as per picture)
Time till service was pretty long considering that the cashier and the barista is the same person and there is only one cup of coffee brewed if the barista is at the machine and not at the cashier. Plus point: Paywave is accepted.
Coffee collection is self service but there wasn't exactly a queue system (no buzzer or receipt provided). The cashier-barista just told me to come back around 5-10mins. The cashier-barista's memory or their internal queue system must be present to keep track I suppose? Went back when it was about 10min but my coffees weren't ready so I was asked to come back again. Thankfully, the walls separating Gelatolabo and glass roasters are made of clear glass. The barista later signalled through the glass from behind the counter for me to collect my coffees, saving me an additional trip of disappointment.
Tried both their upsized white (hot) and their iced white. Tasted sharp and very acidic despite having the milk component. Not my cup of Joe for sure.
I guess you never know if you never try! đ

Read on Burpple that this is the recommended drink so I decided to give it a try as part of my burpple deal. Noted that the beans are supplied from Allpress Expresso when I made my order.p
Hot lavender latte (single shot) is usually served slightly sweetened and is priced at $5.50 I had requested for mine to be unsweetened as Iâm not a fan of sweetened coffee. The staff recommended for me to opt for the slightly sweetened for the fullest flavor and satisfaction and offered to put the sugar syrup on the side for me if I decided to try it later. It was additional effort on his team to clean up and I appreciated it very much. Came across some reviews saying that the coffee strength is extremely weak and decided that Iâd add an extra shot (+$0.40) to try to counter that. Total cost adds up to $5.90 for a cuppa double shot hot lavender latte.
My boyfriend, not a fan of coffee, ordered an iced lavender latte (double shot) as the burpple deal limits the drink selection to coffee. Like its unchilled sibling, it comes sweetened and is priced at $7.50.
The hot lavender coffee was served warm, topped with some purple lavender flowers against the brown and whites of the milk coffee, on a wooden coaster with âBravery x Allpressâ carved onto it. A small metal pitcher of sugar syrup and a metal spoon accompanied my cup of latte. Lavender smell was pretty strong at first whiff but faded off later on. Temperature of the drink was way cooler than that which lattes are usually served at and itâs also not what the way Iâd liked it to be. As mentioned in other reviews, the coffee in the drink was almost undetectable (even with the additional shot I had requested) and it became underwhelming for me. The lavender flavor paired well with the milk but I would choose to go without the lavender next time in order to have a higher chance at tasting the coffee hints. I did eventually try the slightly sweetened version at half point mark but it didnât help the drink in meeting my expectations. Again, I do appreciate the staffâs gesture of providing alternatives and recommendations.
Iced lavender latte was served in a tall slim glass with a black plastic straw topped with purple flowers as well. Taste was likened to the warmer sibling. Definitely not a pick me up kind of drink. My boyfriend didnât enjoy it very much as well. Iâd think that the taste and enjoyment of this drink would vary across the coffee and non coffee drinkers depending on their preference of lavender.
Previous experience of Allpress expresso beans m at âBaker & Cookâ had me trying the drink at this cafe with a certain expectation. Perhaps it would have been different had I not came with that experience.
Will recommend to increase the number of shots by 2 or 3 times if you would like to try the drink! May come back to try the normal flat white with 2-3 additional shots.
Cafe located beside the lobby of a hotel. Minimal indoor seating that faces the kitchen but thereâs a fair number of Alfresco seating. There wasnât much people for a Sunday late afternoon. Tables at the alfresco seating seems to be made out of coarse wood shavings and accompanied with rattan armchairs and wooden benches. Nicely topped with a pot of green leaves and white woven serviette dispenser. The fans above do generate a good amount of wind despite their size.
Ordered their Signature Dashi Risotto with a hovering thought of ordering their truffle fries. Service was extremely slow considering that there werenât many customers waiting.
After the wait, the dish arrived plated beautifully with a balance of colors. Risotto was cooked well and they were generous with the portion of enoki tempura. The crunch from the tempura enoki in each spoonful of risotto was well paired! There were also some brown mushrooms embedded within the risotto bed. Wished they had given more of those. Overall, am glad that the dish tasted really hearty and flavorful!
They can definitely do better with the pricing/ portioning of the entire dish though. We ended up ordering a post lunch snack of spam fries (changed our mind from the initial idea of truffle fries). Checked on the waiting time before ordering and was assured that we wouldnât need to wait too long but it still became a rather lengthy wait. Spam fries served were of a generous portion and came with a spice-packed aioli of sorts. Felt that there wasnât much special about the dish though and wished we had ordered the truffle fries to try. Maybe next time!
Made our way indoors for the payment and noted that there was only one chef in the kitchen. This perhaps explains the waiting time. Not sure if itâs like this on a daily basis but I definitely hope not! Would hesitate to come back again because of the price and the wait.
Limited indoor seating. Industrial feel from the decorations and furnitures. Great service! Cashier was patient with changes and inquiries on baked goods. Food arrived quickly and dishes were cleared really quickly too.
Ordered smoked salmon Rosti and smoked salmon eggs benny. Generous portions. Drinks-wise, we ordered iced caramel sea salt latte and soy white cold brew.
The rosti falls apart easily and could have been crispier. Not sure if the eggs are meant to be sunny side or over easy but they are slightly over cooked. Would have been nice to have it runny. Generous portions of smoked salmon that is well seasoned. Overall a great dish!
Eggs Benedictâs was a shocker with crispy English muffins topped off with runny poached eggs, (again) generous portions of smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce. Love the sesame sauce that came with the salad sides.
Drinks were quite disappointing though. Saw that most of other customers ordered the hot coffees, will come back to try the classic whites (latte/ flat white) next time!
Total cost: $23 for 2 pax; quite a steal! Would definitely come back!
