Hidden in a coffee shop at Blk 19 toh Yi drive ( and next to a chicken rice stall ) lies this snack shop manned by a petite chef ๐ฉโ๐ณ.
She makes her own yam cake and ikan billis chilli as well as old style char siew and turnip rice rolls.
The yam cake is a star - made with lots and lots of yam with a snotty
Her rice dumplings are also lovely๐
In a hidden coffeeshop along toh tuck road lies this hidden gem.
They sell the best tasting homemade yam cakes that is so chock full of Yam and QQ chee Cheong fun in my opinion.
The ikan billis chilli is homemade and pairs well with the yam cake .
Nice to know that the stall owner takes orders for her yam cakes so there are good for parties and gatherings.

Back at my only haunt for homemade yam cake again this morning because I was craving for yam cake again ๐... ...
The sweet Aunty gave me a dollop of her homemade sesame powder again which somehow went well wth the yam cake .
Coupled with sweet sauce and her home made ikan billis sambal , this was the highlight of the day for me ๐
The generous slab of yam cake is filled with huge chunks of yam goodness ๐๐
Awesome Sunday ๐ง๐ป

Following my previous post on what I deem as the best yam cake ( besides mine I suppose ๐....)
This is the lovely Chef showing off her yam cake and her homemade sambal chilli with ikan bills ( loser left hand corner ).
Head down this weekend for a yammy breakfast ๐
Do try her turnip chee cheong fun and her rice dumplings .
Go early to avoid disappointment ๐ง๐ป
However, it can be a headache when you are the organizer. There is a lot effort in sourcing different food, travel to different locations to make order and collection. This Pandora Mix & Match is the perfect choice for party planners. It is very convenient to order online and arrange for a delivery right to your door step. You can personalise your own snack box by mix & match. Totally spoilt for choices! From pizza to danish to eclair to ang ku kueh to nonya kueh. I have ordered assorted danish and assorted nonya kueh. What I like about Danish pastry is the buttery and flaky dough and its sweet toppings including cinnamon, vanilla creme, apple coronet and more! The assorted nonya kueh is soft and not too sweet or too rich in taste. Definitely going for a second piece!

From Choz Confectionary which seems to have moved in not too long ago โ basically a takeaway cake shop that also does a few Kueh as well as cream cakes.
The Kueh Salat is only $0.80 here, but it matches very well with the more pricier hipster versions I have had (they make their own Kueh, which explains why). The Pandan Custard layer was aptly sweet and very aromatic; custard-like without being all wet and mushy while the glutinous rice adds a hint of savoury notes with a firmer bite. Another place to go to when I am itching for a Kueh Salat to grab-and-go!
