I have not tasted the one by the older generation so cannot tell if it was the same or different. The broth was abit sweet for my liking. Pork ribs were tender and juicy. The broth for the soupy version was very little and no top ups were given (according to the sign pasted on the glass). There were only one and a half prawns (sliced).

It is a decent bowl but not the best I have tasted. For $8 per bowl, it was to me atad pricey.
