π² Having this Hokkien version side by side with Nyonya rice dumpling, I must admit that I prefer the flavor of this Hokkien one. The rice part is darker and there is a salted egg. Salted egg is always a must-have (be it a rice dumpling or a mooncake)π€© it's a soul of a party!! πΊπ chestnut, mushroom and braised pork belly are all mixed in the fillings. We just can't wait to try the Teochew version.π€π * Tips * if you buy the takeaway version like us, don't steam too long as the rice part could turn soggy. Check how the dumpling looks inside the leaf and remove the rope before steaming (red rope for nyonya, blue rope for hokkien)
